    I was watching the Marquez Pacquiao fight and it got me curious. What fight saw the most knockdowns ?

    You're best off looking at fights from the olden days when fighters weren't sent to a neutral corner and were allowed to pretty much stand over their opponent. Dempsey-Tunney comes to mind.

    The record stems from 1902. Christy Williams KD'ed Battling Nelson 9 times. Unfortunately for him he was himself knocked down 41 times before going down for the count in round 17.

    So the answer is Nelson-Williams with 51 KD's.

    He was completely senile and punchdrunk when the pic was taken shortly before his death.


    He's not burned as implied by another poster. He just shows the marks of one of the most brutal careers the prize-ring has ever seen.
