if i was famous, id do what to vargas what george lopez always does to erik estrada. apparently when lopez was a kid, he saw estrada and wanted to shake his hand, and estrada told lopez to go away. now lopez brings it up every opportunity he gets. i've always liked mosley a lot, but you can imagine how happy i was when he helped vargas get second head, then koed him in the second fight.

he was probably just being playful or having a bad day, but you only get one time to make a first impression, and that's the taste that was left in my mouth after meeting vargas.

I remember when Corrales died Hatton was saying that Corrales was on his potential list of opponents if Hatton got by Castillo. Anyone think Corrales would have had any chance at that stage of his career seeing as Hatton was never a true welterweight?

Haven't met any boxers but I met Steve Bunce a couple of months back and he's a genuinely top fella. :good

Vargas is a street kid so this doesn't surprise me. I wouldn't be shocked if he was serious of course but to me he's joking around in his own way. Vargas' immaturity and his loyalty to leeches in his inner circle was the cause of his downfall.

Fernando, according to Lou Duva, was more interested in hanging out with his friends than training. Vargas also was consistently getting into issues at clubs/bars/beaches and so on because his friends would get him into bad situations and Vargas would wind up in fights over them.

He never really grew up so to speak.

I always knew he trained hard. When he was off season he would just blow up because of eating and drinking nad such.

But yeah Iagree, that sounds much like Fernando.

Even his 1999 incident was because of his friends.

Basically Duva said Vargas was never comfortable being himself. He was two faced I guess.

yeah i my non chinese friends make fun of me all the time, and i make fun of them as well reguarding stereotypes of our ethnicity as well. it's cool we know each other like brothers. in a sick way that's just how guys bond and be friends. but when it comes down to it, i know they respect my culture and ethnicity, and i respect theirs, and we'd there's nothing we wouldn't do for one another. i would have no problem with vargas doing that if he was my "boy", and we go way back with each other, but he doesn't know me and even if it was joking, i was really put off by it.
