That's not necessarily true. Stories on Duran range from an angry, selfish son of a ***** to a caring, honest guy who had a true love for helping others. I know he had a soft spot for helping out kids.
I got the same treatment from his brother Rafael...after I told him how awesome his fight with Pendleton was. I was in downtown getting a sandwich at Subway. I met Chavez and his people at Olympic auditorium... I lost respect for him when I met him in person. ON the bright side I took a photo with Chicanito, Bobby Chacon, and Oscar. Oscar, was real polite and actually took his time, Bobby was Bobby, and Chicanito was real humble. Hector Lopez introduced me to Tapia and Chuck Bodack. When I told him he won the fight with Kostya he told me that everyone told him that.
for the life of me, i really can't figure out why he's not the crossover star that he should be. the man is a class act, always shows up in shape, willing to engage in fan friendly fights, articulate, and my gf and other girls i know find him decent looking. i mean he's making good money, and will be set for life, but i can't understand why there is a public demand for him so he can make the dlh, pbf, pac paychecks.
Manny Pac (yes he's hated a lot here but those are just ridiculous nuthuggers, cry babies) Joe Fraizer Erik Morales Shane Mosley
Yey Manny is super cool as I stated before i met him before he was real famous. But Ive met Shane many times and always really cool. The first time I met him was at the Olympic auditorioum he had barely cracked the top 10. I had a KO magazine on me and while we were talking he asked me if he could check it out he couldnt believe KO only had him ranked 9th He was dissecting the division to me and my cousin, telling us he could take the champ easy Nazarov Olzubek saying that Olzubek fought like a robot. He talked to us for like 15 minutes and signed my Magazine. My cousing didnt know who he was at the time and I was telling him that this guy is gonna be famous one day. My cousin reminds me of that to this day.
i met jt at second b-hops fight in lv. very nice, and polite. breaks my heart to see where his career has gone. i'm glad he's not in the super 6 anymore. i don't know how many more ko losses i can take.
Just too many names at the time he was a star. There was still a lot of heavyweight power at the top, Oscar and Tito were there, Roy Jones Jr was a big name, James Toney had his hand on star power and of course you had Arturo Gatti. Just too many people at one time. His losses to Forrest didn't help.
i would love to meet mosley. he deserves the $ that pac, oscar, pbf makes. i wonder if his wife didn't control his career if he'd be the crossover star that he should be. you ever met chris byrd? he seems like a class act.
Calvin Brock is actually a pretty nice guy too. He kind of made me feel better considering how big of a nerd he is/was.
Hatton is a genuinely nice bloke, I met him in Blackpool one night when we were both out drinking, his friend had a dress on as it was his stag weekend and he was like anyone else you meet around town. He spoke more about football than boxing.
Yeah I've heard Ricky Hatton is a pretty good guy. Not too far from the "one of the guys" persona he shows on TV. I've read that Matthew is a major *******.
