It's a difficult one for Hearn because people are now demanding Kell steps up and fights better class of opponents- does he bide his time and wait for a world title and in the mean time put him in with Theopane, Gavin or maybe a good world level(ish) fighter who has held a belt or fought for a title and doesn't demand stupid money like Jan Zaveck or possibly Josh Clottey? To me it seems they have no other choice at present. IBF and WBA world title fights are tied up at the moment. Senchenko v Malignaggi happens next month i suppose that is one Eddie is looking at- you gotta think about it though, would Senchenko come to Sheffield? Would Paulie? I doubt it. If i was guessing i'd say Kell will fight in Sheffield again this summer against Jan Zaveck (i noticed Eddie Hearn send Zaveck a tweet several weeks ago requesting his e-mail address, could be nothing of course!) and then if/when he gets through that fight Mike Jones for the IBF at the end of the year! Think that would be VERY exicting times for Kell Brook and boxing fans.
Maidana would be perfect if kell could tko/ko or even UD marcos that would massively hype a uk fight with khan
If Hearn knows about this one - he is the guy: Ranked #8 with WBA - "Top 10 fighter" Unbeaten Should be the Euro Champ Timing works out for the summer Would be an inexpensive option Lots to work with for a promoter here; bill it as "undefeated: European title and world title eliminator" - follow it up with Malignaggi/Senchenko. To be honest there's more to work with here (for the casuals that they're aiming for now) than a shot at El Massoudi. You have to explain what an interim belt is - you don't with the above.
Maidana is weak at 147lb so I don't see the point. I want to see Brook against Devon Alexander in the States
