Father time I thought the Wlad of the Haye fight looked great, he had fast feet and and was quick on the defensive and handled a fast opponent very well and took Haye's best punch no problem I thought Wlad would go on to shine from there seeing that no one was really left. Povetkin was the one guy left he needed to beat, not because I thought he was a real threat but just because he had a belt and was undefeated and had been looming for years as a guy in Wlads way Wlad looked like he was going toward his old ways...vs Mormeck he KO'd him in 4 rounds, he KO'd Thompson in 6 and Pianeta in 6...yes these were his worst defenses of his titles but he hadnt stopped guys in like that...now Pianetta and Mormeck probably should have been outta there in half the time but as a Wlad fan I was like whoa he finished guys in the first half of the fight Then vs Wach he was on his toes, threw combos, got really aggressive in the 8th or 9th clubbing away for the finish like we hadnt seen in yrs This idea that Banks Klitscho was back to being exciting evaporated with the Povetkin debacle Now I dont blame Wlad for all the clinches but most were his fault....The big sin is how easily he dropped Povetkin multiple times then all of sudden the next round he switches off and no longer goes for the kill...Povetkin was a dead man walking, beaten, bruised tired, he was barely on his two feet and Wlad could not or would not finish Beyond the lack of killer instinct/pull the trigger Wlad looked bad early, Povetkin moved and gave angles and Wlad had barely any issues, Povetkin landed shots moved well and kept Wlads right hand on ice, not til the holding and the knockdowns came did Povetkin become a walking survivor This is what makes me wonder about Wlad and what he has left, he seemed unable to pull the trigger and since Brewster I his offense has shrunk He can beat most guys out there if not all but he is getting older and slower My brother seems to aspire to the Rocky/Wepner like approach to a title opponent for Wlad..we've seen the guy with the 0 get the shot...my brother wanted Sprott to beat Helenius and get a shot at wlad because he felt the guy with nothing to lose had the best shot. a guy who had a rough career of ups and downs would value his title shot more than some of these show up outta shape guys or guys who clam up or run after a few rounds ...Leapai in a way fits the bill for this kind of opponent personally I hate the Leapai fight and want Pulev next
Vlad looked fantastic Vs. Wach, who is 6 feet 8 inches tall, and was on steroids. Wach would knock Wilder out cold. Vlad had Povetkin almost out, at least two times, but he did not do it for some reason. Even Povetkin and Atlas did not feet they had any real chance against Vlad. Who can beat Vlad? Nobody at this time. The same ones who were claiming that Vitali could not fight also claim that Vlad can't fight. Wilder? Vlad has already easily kicked his arse in sparring for the Wach fight. If Vlad were to rematch Povetkin he would knock Povetkin out. Vlad is extremely underrated because of the bias that has been against him for many years, since he won the gold.........Vlad old, ready for the old folks home? That is called self-rationalization. Even day the haters dream about Vlad losing, they have been for years. If the haters were correct, then Vlad would have never won the titles......................to hear the haters Vlad has never won a fight.............
