Speaking about boxers who appear crude on film but are legendary ATGs, I think about Stanley Ketchel, Top 5 Middleweights of all time.

 

Do we have any McGovern footage outside of (likely fixed) Gans fight?

 

If it was a fix, I've never seen anything to suggest McGovern had any involvement.

If think there's a possiblity it was on the level, and the 133Ib weight limit just weakened Gans enough to make the poor showing. But one of the papers did report odd betting too.

I think it most likely was a fix, but we will never know for sure, and I think there's a fair case against it being fixed.
