Slightly more interesting thread..And important imho, its good for boxing if the media advertise the best guy
Khan is the right answer here. WHY? Because the general British public are stupid and the on/off boxing fan will truly think he is the best fighter in the world, even though he'll never be top 20. Frank Warren has him fighting total bums, or 'champs' as FW calls them, and already he has made millions of pounds for the lad. Can't wait til he gets starched
Warren WILL have him fighting totall bums. He's being brought along nicely at the moment....but I just cant see him making that final leap to true world class.
Amir Khan could be a superstar in the Arab world and in most muselmani terretory. He also has a piece of paper called British passport so that he could be sold to the British public as well. Povetkin and Solis have potential, too. Both are heavy weigths. Gamboa is a great fighter, but doesnt speak neither English nor German, and the little guys seldom appeal to the casual sport fan .
Lee, followed by JCC Jr. and Khan. Of guys not mentioned, I also think Arreola could be very marketable if he improves enough. I don't know if Katsidis is still considered a prospect or not (he's never fought for a non-interim belt still), and if so, he might be the most marketable of the whole bunch.
in terms of just marketability, I think it comes down to Lee, Khan and JCC jr. Of course it also depends on where you are marketing them.
