Insane. The ref really only checked to see if Coggi still had a pulse - when that was confirmed, he said "yep, you're good to go...." Helluva right hand for the KD of Coggi.

Tony Anthony doing the same to Mike Weaver. He literally attacked while Weaver was walking back to his corner.

And Bowe v Buster Mathis, who Bowe blatantly hit while he was down but somehow escaped being DQ'd. Bowe was involved in a lot of bizarre ones, and had more fights end in a riot than anyone else I can think of.

I hope that referee never got to officiate another fight in his life. Blatant helping out the hometown fighter. Piece of ****.

When it happened, Roberto Duran quitting in the middle of a round vs. Ray Leonard with no signs of being hurt was absolutely bizarre.

I remember this one well. When Gonzalez had Coggi completely out in that round, they took an entire minute away from him when he certainly would have finished him. Absolute BS. The blantant corruption here was unreal.

The fight fight between Hall and Slavin in 1893 that all sources note was "clearly fixed" or "clearly fixed by Charlie Mitchell". They do not clarify what this means or any of the people involved weren't banned from the sport. Mitchell got a title shot months less than a year later. Its just a thing that happened, is duly noted and the record expects us to go about our business like nothing happened.

To make this more bizzare is a rematch of this fight in 1897 is the earliest claimed LHW title fight. Theres a lot of disagreement on what the first title fight is this is the earliest of the group. And the strange thing is both fights had the same exact outcome Hall by knockout in the 7th round.

So I feel theres a lot more going on here thats been lost to history.

Maybe it's just me, but Ali and especially Tyson with the whole Allah thing, definitely less strange with Ali, but I find it really awkward when someone vehemently clings to some organized religion

This one round **** show is pretty memorable. Bonus is that it's recent so it's in perfect quality. I swear, DAZN should have these guys rematch, put it at the top of one of their cards.

The way Hamsho-Scypion ended made the evening news in the US. Renaldo Snipes was originally noted for weird things happening in his fights, like getting bitten on the shoulder in a clinch with Jumbo Cummings, then twisting his ankle on the camera of some idiot ringside photographer. That his challenge of Holmes also had weirdness then surprised absolutely nobody who had previously seen him.

Marlon Starling getting interviewed with his head ringing from Molinares sucker punching him.

If it can be classified as weird and a boxing moment, let's throw in Muhammad Ali getting an airplane spin from Gorilla Monsoon, who made an in shape GOAT look like the original 97 pound weakling in the Charles Atlas adverts.

Again, if it can be classified with boxing, Joe Frazier nearly drowning in the swimming pool during the first ABC Superstars Competition.

5'10" Wilfredo Benitez contemptuously staring down his nose at 6'1" Tommy Hearns and winning the psych contest.
