I'm Mexican and born in 1992, so practically leaving aside that I vaguely remember watching JC vs ODLwith all the family (both fights), I started watching boxing around 2003 (11) maybe, so...

1.-Margarito KO Cotto. It was just incredible, Cotto was the favorite and it's the México vs Puerto Rico rivalry, I will always remember that night, I saw it with my father and we were screaming!

2.-Márquez vs Pacquiao II before the decision: How many minutes? Less than 5? Still those were some minutes where again with my dad we were celebrating how we had the best P4P, we were pretty convinced of the victory, until we realized it was Las Vega, that really sucked.

3.-Salido vs López: Man! I was in New York and to see it with a bunch of Mexican friends in a hotel outside of my country and with such a nic KO and huge upset win, I was just so ****ing screaming I woke everyone on the same floor up haha!

4.-Arce vs Vázquez/Arce vs Hussein Hussein: Those are Mexican KOs with huge balls!!!

 

my saddest moment in boxing and most memorable moment is when manny k.od. erik morales because erik knew he knew what to do but couldnt do it anymore. he shook his head and i seriously had tears coming out. i was a young git at the time.

i watched a friend who i used to hang out with and party with when we were young kids win a boxing world title. i watched it with 3 other guys from that same group on one of those first 55" big screens. he was part of a ppv card and was an underdog. the screaming and cheering in the house we had all gotten drunk in many times went on for 10 minutes straight. i love boxing.

 

Whitaker vs Chavez taught me boxing can be ****ed up!!!

 

1978 when Leon Spinks (6-0-1) beat Ali for the WBA HW title
1980 when Duran beat Sugar Ray Leonard for the WBC Welter Title
1981 when Salvador Sanchez TKOed Wilfredo Gomez for the WBC Featherweight Title
1982 when Aaron Pryor KOed Alexis Arguello for the WBA light Welter title

 

There have been so many..

Morales vs Pacquiao 1: I was almost certain that Pac was going to lay a beating on Morales after what he did to Barrerra, Morales looked timid in the ring entrance and Pacquiao was upbeat. Round 1 and Pacquiao starts of strong knocking Morales back with quick left straights, suddenly Morales retaliates like a true Mexican he is. I couldnt believe how he schooled Pacquiao. And then the 12th round sends shivers down my spine, he turns to southpaw and goes to WAR with Pacquiao, he gets hit with hard right hands but he just continues. I will never forget that fight

2. Corrales vs Castillo... After watching round 10 i was so shocked with emotion that i couldnt sleep (no homo) I just felt like telling all my friends about the fight and slapping anyone that says boxing isnt the greatest

3. PBF vs Hatton: I watched this at a friends house, like 20 people were there, all British, all drunk, rooting for Hatton. I was the only person there that knew Mayweather would win, round by round Mayweather gained the advantage and then the threw that tremendous left hook..

4. Margorito Vs Cotto: I still havent seen the replay of that fight, it was so sad to see one of my favourite fighters get beat into oblivion.

dela hoya vs camacho! that was one bloody fight.. i had just came to america and landed in san diego. it was around 5th grade and it was the first time i really got into boxing.. especialy mexican fighters cause they dont run from nothing. but when i was a little kid(late 80's) my uncles n them would always watch tyson fights, but i was more interested in wwf. but yeah man, that fight reminded me rocky4.. when i got so much adrenaline that i went outside to pick a fight and got beat up..

Has to be Hatton vs Tyuzu for me. Ricky kept marching forward, taking shots but landing his own. He dug deep and when Tyuzu quit on his stool I knew Hatton was a special fighter

Bruno beating Mccall was another one, all of Britain cheered him on that night and the euphoria that happened when he won was amazing

Watching Naz getting beat by Barrera was a humbling experience for me, I had been rooting for every Naz opponent to shut Naz up and shut his big gob, then when he actually lost I felt sad for him. He never had any malice in his heart when he talked down to opponents, and I knew then that I could no longer look forward to the ring walks, smart comments, funny quotes and excellent boxing ability.

When Benn beat Mclennan I was extatic, Jim Watt said "Mclennan doesn't have the heart" but Mcguigan said "Something is wrong with Gerlad". I sided with Jim and was chuffed that he lost, then I felt so bad for ages afterwards when I found out that Gerald had slipped into a coma. I still feel bad about feeling so happy about it now.

I guess I'm a bigger fan of British showdowns, Eubank v Benn was always a thrill to watch.

Recently, watching real heros like Gatti and Oscar take a pumelling when they should have retired ages ago hurts to see. Only calzaghe has quit when he knew he was on the slide.

My last memory of Ricky will be him layed out on the canvas, and that will always hurt.

Lastly, like the original thread, watching Tyson when I was small always made me want to take up boxing and look like him, so i ended up doing boxercise as my Mum didn't want me to box. Thanks to Tyson for inspiring me as I'm now 14 stone, muscular and fit and I coach children about fitness and strength now.

We still rib one of my mates over this fight all the time...

When Dunne was ****ed in the 5th after being knocked down, my mate kept saying he shouldn't be allowed out for the 6th and that he's ****ed etc etc...

Cut to 20 minutes later, 'And the New WBA Champion of the World ......'
