Who are the greatest, most successful fighters who suffered from diagnosable mental illnesses while they were still champions?

    The floor is yours.

I would venture to say that Johnny Tapia might fit that description.

One of the very few who was actually diagnosed by professionals, as far as I know.

Wouldn’t you have to be a little crazy to be a boxer in the first place?

I haven’t seen anything about him being formally diagnosed. Mike Tyson was and had to take Zoloft.

Interesting. I thought Fury mentioned he was getting counseling and such, but in retrospect, one never knows whether he's telling the truth unless there's documentation.
