I wonder how it must’ve felt to be in madison square garden on March 8, 1971…

I remember watching Delahoya v Mosley (both fights) not knowing who the heck would win but I was a big Oscar fan as a young man. I wonder if I would have the same opinion now scoring the fights

Started out following Larry Holmes as a kid; I was really nervous waiting for the cards to be read after his fight with Carl "The Truth" Williams.

The last one...Usyk-Fury. I thought they were going to screw Oleksandr, and they tried!

I came to post this. By a mile, yes, as far anything recent went. After the absolute BS of the ref saving Fury from being stopped, I figured there was no way the judges would actually give it to Usyk.

Every time I rewatch that round I get mad. The ref 100% robbed Usyk of stopping Fury, which nobody thought he would.

The silver lining is that it is now part of the legend of the fight...Usyk beat Fury, Turki, a crooked ref, and paid judge!

There was absolutely zero chance they were gonna stop that fight then and there.

Fury was a champion, and came back from hellacious knockdowns against Wilder multiple times.

I was just about to post exactly the same concern.

Yep, the ref impeded Usyk TWICE during the assault and could’ve ordered a count earlier in the round for the EXACT same reason he did finally order a count.

Basically the ref gave Fury every chance possible to avoid a default 10-8 round - but when an outright KO/stoppage was imminent, ordering a KD became the lesser of two evils.

The ref also “kindly” led Fury part way back to his corner after the round finished.

How was that ref’s form? Unreal!

    Bring on December 21!

Recently Usyk vs Fury I wanted Usyk to win and even though I thought he clearly won it when I heard "Split Decision" I thought here we go again.

I was on the edge of my seat nervously awaiting the decision.
