Zora Folley knocked out Tod Herring on March 17, 1964, in the middle of the seventh round in Houston, on the night that I was born. Herring was 26-2 and had just avenged one of his defeats and won six or eight in a row. He went on a slide after losing to Folley. Folley improved to 67-7-3 and fought this bout between a win over George Chuvalo and a draw against Karl Mildenberger in Germany. After going 1-2-1 over four fights in 1963 (with no-shame losses to Ernie Terrell and Doug Jones), Folley went on a 12-fight undefeated streak (that included the draw vs. Mildenberger as the only blemish) that led up to his seventh-round KO loss to Muhammad Ali in March of '67 -- Ali's last fight before being forced to sit three years of his prime.
I'm not four, but this happened two days before my birthday Talk about a birthday present! This content is protected
had to look it up there was a flyweight title fight the day before i was born a japanese fighter won / only other fight of note that month was ali just coming off beating liston and patterson 3rd defense beating chuvalo albeit i was 1 month old by then with just 66 years and 11 months to my retirement to go.
Would you also like to know my mother's maiden name? Mine would be a choice between two different bouts. My D.O.B falls between and Jorge Paez defeating Calvin Grove in the last ever 15 round bout to become the IBF's first featherweight champ and JCC unifying the WBC and WBA titles against Jose Luis Ramirez.
