i am sure most of press row was 'influenced' in some mannor by the largely (almost all) pro-margo crowd in his hometown. Maybe they should have watched it on tv with the sound off to give a true score. And the reason I say true score is because the punisher beat him, and did it descively.

Excellent point, I think Margarito came into the fight thinking that Williams was a very strong puncher so when Williams was pumping his jab Margo decided to play it safe at first then as the fight wore on and Margo got a taste of Williams power that's when he decided that he could handle his punches and that's when Margo decided to open up and let his hands go.

I do give Williams credit for the win. Actually, I was a bit dissapointed that Margarito didn't close the 12th stronger, but then again, it was a high paced fight. Its pointless of living in the past and saying "if fighter A would have done this then he could have".... the point is Margarito didn't start off as well has he finished, therefore, he gave up too many rounds early which didn't wasn't going to guarantee anything, even though he won the majority of the second half of the fight, with exception to the 12th. Think about this... Margarito took far more much punishment from Cotto than against Williams, but against Cotto, he made sure that he put the heat on from round 2, and made every punch count. Look at the body work he put against Cotto early on and look at whether he did that against Williams. You may say it was because he had a jab slapping him all night long, etc, etc. But since when did punches bother Margarito? Look at the barbaric display of chin he put on against Cotto. He took those punches extremely and unloaded his own, at all times, without being phased. And in my opinion, Cotto's punches were harder than what PW's was hitting Margarito with. From what I have seen, there are two versions of Margarito; the version that starts off slow and takes a good long while before he really turns it on, like against Clottey and Paul Williams, and there is the more recent version, like after his loss to PW, where he is more aggressive since early on and more consistent. He showed this against Golden Johnson, Kermit Cintron, and now Miguel Cotto. With Cotto it wasnt as obvious, but he put a lot of good body work early on, which paid dividends. Don't get me wrong, he was taking a lot of punishment while doing so.

Sir, I'm not the one claiming to be uniquely qualified to score professional prizefights, unlike 'most people', based on my 'objectivity'. You are.

But by all means, please continue making an azz of yourself.

Most of the judges had the fight for Williams.

    Judges opinion > Media's opinion

  14. Williams clearly won the fight:deal for those to say otherwise are full of Horse****:-( and Margo would be wise to avoid him or he would lose again, Williams style and height, strength, and reach pose real problems for Margo unlike that little shrimp Cotto..
