Ali won the pre fight build up, the ringwalk an the ring staredown an that was it Holmes won every minute of every round giving Ali the most brutal an most painful beating of his career
Mike and @Fireman Fred , you guys beat me to it when I saw this subject matter. I was immediately thinking of Ramos-Carmona as a monumental beatdown. I thought it was ironic when you mentioned Mando leaving the ring on a stretcher. The irony being, two months later Carmona defended his title against Mando's stablemate Rodolfo Gonzalez and this time it was Chango's turn to take a hellacious beating and left the ring on the very same stretcher. With Mando and Rodolfo both managed by Jackie McCoy, one of the papers pegged it as "Jackie's revenge"
In the first bout between Lloyd Marshall and Ezzard Charles, Marshall put a thumping on Ezz. Before stopping him in the 8th, Lloyd had Ezz down 7 times. In the second bout between Jack (Kid) Berg and Billy Petrolle, Petrolle put on one dominating performance. Before the fight was stopped in the 5th, Billy had Jack down 10 times (9 times in the first round alone).
