The bizarre Usyk-Eubank thread idea saw a mention of Carl Thompson, which reminded me of his great come-from-behind KO vs Sebastian Rothmann. Carl really was on the verge of being stopped, although he had floored Rothmann early in the contest, he was then subjected to a boxing lesson and was taking far more punches than he should. He regained some composure and fought his way back into the contest but Rothmann gained the upper hand once more.

Just when everyone (myself, the commentators etc) were lamenting the end of one of the most exciting careers in British boxing, and with the ref about to save the puffed up Thomson from a beating, Carl (back to the ropes) unleashed a furious right hand that nailed Rothmann who collapsed to the canvas- fight over.

If anyone hasn't seen this, check it out, it's like one of those old classic Saad Muhammad fights.

This is a good one and should probably also be in the sacrificial lamb upset thread.

Rocky Graziano made a career out of pulling the fat from the fire. He was behind on points in his 3rd bout with Tony Janiro, his first fight with Red Cochrane and his bout with Charlie Fusari and pulled out all 3 with a 10th round KO.
