This. Also Lamont Peterson was severely overrated after his win vs Holt. Also I think Danny Garcia is overrated at the moment by people saying he is elite, he may be in time but his wins over Khan and shot Morales git a bit overrated

100% agree. As soon as people see KO power they think the guy is unbeatable. Stating the obvious but he lost to Judah and Alexander, two guys who know how to box. They were close fights but they shouldn't have been if Mathysse was that good. Judah and Alexander aren't elite.

    Lucas is not overrated

He's a monster with great boxing skills and unrivaled power.

His speed is his only let down.

Soon to be undisputed king of 140

when i think of people talking up matthyse i think of naseem hamed after the barrera fight

barrera would go on to recently state naz was the hardest puncher he had ever faced. but he had a simple game plan for him to box well and move away from his power hand, utalise the jab and keep him off balance. he knew naz dident have the highest workrate so he took advantage circle with the jab when he thinks naz is lookin to attack BAM get off first

i havent seen a huge ammount of matthyse honestly so id have to sit down and study him before i could come up with a gameplan

    - Golovkin
    - Pulev
    - Wider
    - Povetkin (not sure he is rated though despite being a 'champion')
    - David Price (incredibly some people still think he will be a champion with THAT jaw)

lara- good but too many close rounds vs ok competition
lucas- he good but the hype is getting out of hand
    Dawson- where to start?
Froch- good resume and a warrior but limited, hes no calzague
Burns- he's good, gutsy but not that good
Canelo- young, good and marketable but the next chavez sr? Better than de la hoya?lol
    Golovkin- slightly overrated, will see

But the most overrated fighters of the last years have to be alexander and bute

In fairness to Alexander he won a shutout vs Maidana, highly debatable win over Matthysse (deserves some credit for taking it to a close decision either way), wins over Kotelink and Bailey (who many were saying was P4P hardest puncher out there) and only loss was to P4P Bradley. His style is muck to look at but overall I'd say he is probably underrated by many who see him as easy pickings at 147.
