yeah, vitaly certainly. but duran??? no way. he would have mutulated pryor. rocky marciano comes to mind.
it's amazing how many great fighters people consider overrated. when i think of overrated guys like fernando vargas, antonio tarver, jermain taylor, and winky wright come to mind.
Who is the most overrated fighter ever? Definitely NOT Roberto Duran. He was perhaps the best lightweight ever and put up his best 147 version against anybody today, and they get beat up.
How does it blow? I am saying he IS a great fighter. But I can think of 10 fighters ahead of him. And you comment shows my point in full, the over ratedness of this fighter is monsterous. Easily the most over rated fighter in history, just saying that he is not a top 10 fighter makes people go crazy.
I don't see Pryor losing to Duran, just don't see it. The best fighter at 140 in my opinion. And I think Pryor wins everytime.
He may well not be quite top 10 depending on how you look at his career, but calling him a poor man's Pryor just shows you haven't seen nearly enough of him or have no idea how to analyze a fighter's abilities.
He is a poor mans Pryor because of the moves that they both displayed, turning defense into offense. Both were great at it, but Pryor had better defense, and better combinations.
Duran would outdo him on the inside, being as he was much craftier and more skilled, had a better outside game and was a much better defensive fighter. I don't figure Pryor lands as cleanly and his wild style leads him to getting caught often and I'd say Duran ducks and weaves more than a few of his punches. By virtue of getting tagged less and tagging Pryor cleaner, Duran wins this matchup, and no way Pryor is tiring Duran.
If you look at a Pryor fight and don't see good defence then you are not looking clearly. How many clean punches did he get hit with? Really.
Nah, Duran was off rhythm yes, but more calculated I'd say, Pryor was often hit on the way in and off balance, which is why he was dropped by smaller punches than he should've been at times.
