Everyday I come to ESB and I see some posts that doesn't make any sense to me about fighter A fought nobodies and fighter B fought all great opponents but their resume looks almost identical. So I am curious to see people pov's other than the normal haters. Who are some of the fighters that you think is overated at one point or another or their entire career? Top 9? And please provide examples and friendly debates if possible.
Bowe and McLellan Non else comes close. Michelewski and the white nobody that Toney beat are also overrated by a few.
Muhammad Ali Joe Louis George Foreman Joe Frazier Rocky Marciano Lennox Lewis Larry Holmes Sonny Liston Evander Holyfield Jack Johnson Jack Dempsey James J. Jeffries Evander Holyfield Jersey Joe Walcott Ezzard Charles Max Schmeling Riddick Bowe
You guys are too funny. A 6-6 heavyweight with concussive power, a GOAT jab, incredible versatility, and an ATG P4P resume can't be overrated.
Somebody has to say it => Antonio Tarver - Faded Roy Jones - 2-1 vs Johnson (the only titlest with a pulse Johnson actually managed to beat). - A blown up, old, SMW fighting at crusier - Montell Griffin - 1-1 vs Eric Harding And this guy will garanteed end up in the HOF. Mark my words. Now thats overated.
floyd in the user name and the 2nd one to chime in and say it about the one guy (former light flyweight) who floyd apparently has nightmares about getting knocked out by him
best lefthook ever as well. don't forget he's also the only fighter ever to be able to hook off the jab
Aaron Pryor Willie Pep Benny Leonard Sonny Liston Muhammad Ali Roy Jones Jr. Ray Leonard Bernard Hopkins Joe Louis Max Schmelling Jack Dempsey Gene Tunney Joe Calzaghe Rocco Markegiano not : Ezzard Charles (a true great , sometimes he gets overrated , but never most overrated) George Foreman (h2h monster that could only b beat by few and was robbed of a strategic win over Ali by Angelo Dundee's and probably others' as well criminal acts )
