On these boards, it is clearly Joe Calzaghe followed by the Klits. In the general boxing public, I think Mike Tyson. The man was incredibly exciting and equally limited.

Overrated by whom? Every fighter has their nuthuggers who go completely over the top. Some of the Calzaghe fans on here have a delusional opinion of where he stands historically, but outside of the valleys and padded cells it's unlikely most people feel the same.

In terms of where he usually appears on alltime lists, I think Holyfield (as a heavyweight) is overrated. His performances were up and down throughout his career, and he went 50-50 or worse with most of the top class non-Tyson opponents he faced. Great fighter, but also very beatable at HW.

To me Johnny Tapia was a bit overrated. Some people talk of him as one of the best fighters of the 90s, but his best win is over the overhyped Danny Romero, who lost to most of the top fighters he faced. Tapia had a couple of gits (Arthur Johnson and Medina), and I think Mark Johnson would have had a field day with him had they fought around 97-98. Tapia obviously had his out of ring issues, but I don't think he was a truly great fighter.

I know willie pep is so digustedly overated. Especially when people talk about current greats resume but praise peps who fought 80% bums and back to back fights of bums but God forbid if a modern great fight some bk to bk bums.

Mike Tyson. . . I swear his huggers are just as bad, if not worse than Floyd's, and Manny's.
