I'm starting to think there should be a "Leonard didn't fight his fight/Duran is overrated" thread to go along with TKO6 and the Whine About Mayweather/Pacquiao Express. Maybe in the classic.

 

Duran is easily the most hated retired fighter on this forum - the general section - and I mean easily.

DeJesus is actually in the World Boxing HOF, which was established over a decade prior to the IBHOF. Honestly, it's a nice gauge of things for era's far gone, but when you have a good amount of film available it's better to judge things on your own. DeJesus was a tremendous fighter - who would've ran the decade if it wasn't for Duran's existence in the division - and stayed right at the forefront of things of the throughout. He was the No. 1 rated lightweight at the time of all three of their fights. You won't find anywhere near the same regard held for Ray Lampkin or Edwin Viruet who also made ascensions towards the top before being beaten by Duran in their title shots.
