However that confidence did lead him into Lomachenko, where he showed he could waist limbo while getting punched in the head, but at the time there was a ton of hype that he could beat Loma.

 

That was really only when he moved north of Lightweight and fighting naturally bigger and heavier fighters. When he was at Lightweight and especially at Jr.Lightweight Pretty Boy Floyd was a good offensive minded fighter who liked to look good in the ring as well. The latter day Money Mayweather was more concerned with simply winning risk free and making as much money as possible.

 

For a guy with such athleticism and natural gifts, Virgil Hill was immensely negative, especially towards the back end of his championship career at 175. Showed the odd bit of bite and excitement in early days, but by the mid nineties you can see why people just couldn't warm to him. Very, very safety-first and no-frills against the likes of Del Valle, Maske etc. The Maske fight was particularly horrible.

 

Hands down: Nicolai Valuev.

This giant had the physical equipment to steamroll anybody, but instead he tried to be a cutie. It's laughable seeing him peck and poke at the dwarves in front of him.

 

Derrick Gainer. The way he avoided the fight vs JMM... so negative. He was also too cautious in most high-level fights.

Henry Akinwande. Not only the Lennox fight. Always was afraid of his chin getting cracked, just like Derrick Gainer.

Larry Donald. Boring and negative style (while he had good skills and speed).

 

That's why Lucien Rodrigues lasted full distance with Holmes (the same Rodrigues who was KO'd 3 times by Evangelista)

 

Kevin Johnson especially now

 

Wladimir Klitschko, Lawrence Okolie

 

Let me say this ...before someone says Roy Jones or Pernell Whitaker.....you can’t be a show boat and be considered an overly cautious fighter

 

Whitaker spent plenty of time in the pocket and Jones knocked a lot of guys out. I'd be surprised if either was mentioned.
