the list is big... h2h sonny liston, rocky marciano, larry holmes (a guy who was hurt by guys like snipes or spoon would get ****ed by lewis or joe louis for sure, i think that jack jonhson would beat holmes), 70s ali FOR SURE.( ALI 64-67 THE BEST EVER, NOT THE 70S VERSION, i think that lewis, wladimir, vitali, prime tyson would beat 70s ali by decision, a prime ali would outpoint all them ).in the past i was pretty hard with jack dempsey, but now i like him h2h more than marciano, dempsey in his prime would have an easier time than marciano against walcott and charles.Mike Tyson is overrated by the typical tysonfanboys and he is underrated by tyson haters, i am in the middle, i think that he would do great against some guys (like holmes, joe louis, liston, dempsey)and he would not do that good against some styles(foreman, holyfield), h2h tyson is a force, much better than liston and marciano for sure.
:rofl:rofl 2 of the most underrated hw ever.... joe frazier would make marciano look average, george foreman would make tyson look a victim, of course that i pick guys h2h against foreman, styles like larry holmes and ali were bad for him, but foreman h2h would have cleaned a great part of the house, he would have ****ed every puncher fighting toe to toe . frazier would have beaten holmes, ali(once),holyfield, MARCIANO, LISTON,johnson, dempsey
lennox lewis? hahaha leennox lewis is one of the most feared guys h2h, nobody wants to face his hero against a motivated lewis, if i were in the corner of my boy aprime monster george foreman , i would have been careful with this mother****er lewis, i would tell him "george knock this mother****er out early, if he is still in the fight in the round 7 you will be in trouble"
Lennox Lewis. All his best wins are meaningless as they were being beat by nobody's or middeweights at the time. This is the Tyson Lewis fought. Towards the end of the vid 4.00mins. Clearly not well and unsure weather he should fight on. Only took the fight for the cash. Embarrassing Lewis actually takes credit for the win. [yt]ELKQlaX9_Rg[/yt]
I am not saying that he was the greatest heavyweight of all time, but the fact that these people rated him dosn't lend any comfort to the couter argument.
That is a fair summation. I also think Holyfield won their second fight, and Lewis got the nod due to the controversy surrounding the first one.
he might be overated, BUT the greater question here and it is comitted everyday by people that just can't get past Old Film footage. people didn't walk about any different, the old film says they did, people still worked and laboured bloody hard and since the dawn of time. People found recreation & competition in as many ways as we do today, they still, ****, laugh, joke, love, **** and talked - NO different to us. so the film doesn't even come into it (proved by the mid to late 40s when it became very normal looking, also a lot of the poor filming was down to poor oprating of the equipment as well as the film). so Johnson and everyone else, they (athletes), were just as fit, strong and tough as we are today, though there is an argument for stamina then vs now (more to do with lifestyle & attitudes, people just had to get on with things so they did, tougher MINDED), and street tough guys were still tough as any ghetto anywhere today. So why do people get hung up on film, when you know fine well people still did all the same things the same???
It depends entirely on the demographic thats being asked, thats why theres so many different opinions. But across the board, it has to be Jack Dempsey - Inactive 3 years of his reign - outboxed and beaten by a morbidly obese ex flyweight - knocked out in 10 seconds by a part time fireman with a losing record - Never met his number 1 contender - Fought the defeated leftovers of a middle/light heavy who he never met
Evander Holyfield as a heavyweight. Certainly a great fighter. I don't think he belongs in the top 8 heavyweights. If you have him there he`s overated. Won the title against a guy {Douglas} who was just there to pick up a paycheck. Almost loses the title to a CrackHead on a week`s notice. Defended his title against two 40+ year old contenders. Went the distance with both. Lost two out of three to Riddick Bowe. Won the second fight by a hair possibly due to a freak incident {Fan Man} Then he goes on to lose the title to Michael Moorer. The wins over Tyson were good. No question they both had been diminished Tyson just more so. Then in reality he loses two fights to the Big Dog Lennox Lewis who was the best heavyweight of that era all along.
