I dont think Haye was ever overrated but dont think he achieved everything that I think he could have, but then I also dont know why he wasnt always as active and maybe injuries were a bigger thing in his career than many realised.
Haye won WBC WBA WBO Ring CW titles and the WBA HW title all in 24 fights including a loss and was the away fighter for most of those title wins. That I think is very good going.
I was never a fan of Hatton but he had a very good career also, but Haye was in a world unification fight in his 22nd fight. Hatton in his 22nd fight was going for the British title. Haye was European champ in his 16th fight. I think that is impressive

    Neither were overated.

Both were top drawer world class fighters and only cam unstuck against the very best in their divisions. Does losing to Mayweather, Pacquiao or Klitschko make you overated?

They’re both overrated by the casuals but by the true boxing fans Hatton gets the rating he just about deserves.
He was good but not elite, beat a very good but faded Tszyu and at least took on the best in Mayweather and Pacquio and had a go. He had some good wins also.
Haye’s resume is in truth pretty thin, like Hatton he beat a previously dominant but faded champion. However when he had to put it all on the line against Wlad he chose not to and was happy just to survive and take the money.
    It’s Haye.

Haye but all the same you have to respect what he did at CW. His HW resume is actually pretty mediocre. Stopping Chisora is decent but outside of that there's nothing going on.

Hatton in his prime at his best weight only lost to Pac. I wouldn't say he was absolutely disgraced against Floyd either really, he had his moments.

Haye was an outstanding cruiserweight Hatton was a good fighter I’d say Hatton was probably more overrated by casual boxing fans who a lot thought he’d beat Mayweather

Ricky Hatton like triple world champion Jeff Fenech went out on their shield. In their 3 losses they were ko neither were ever beaten on pts. U can't ask more from a fighter than that and both would have never put a in performance likes Hayes did against Klitschko.

Neither. Both had very good careers. How many boxers have achieved what they have? Not many.

Haye, and it's not even close. The fact that he talked himself into a fight for the HW championship without having to actually compile a record that justified it is enough, but then you add how he was predictably humiliated, and then utterly exposed afterward cinches it.
