i bet 80% of the people were picking DLH over pac.....saying he was picking on a little guy ect.... i dont rate it as overrated...the former light flyweight beat the **** out of the former junior middleweight champ ( i would say former middleweight champ, but # 1 it was WBO and # 2 Sturm kicked his ass)
The problem was that Paulie was backtracking trying to set Hatton up for the checkhook ALL NIGHT LONG - trouble was........ you could see it from this side of the Atlantic, meaning he had to lunge in with his jab and clinch to avoid being whacked to the body - trouble was he was being hit by hard right hand counters!
That's true but the version of DLH that showed up that night would'nt have beaten anyone with a pulse. I never said it's not a good win, but I think it's overrated because of how DLH looked. He was downright awful and drained. But you can't take too much away from Pac I guess, he did his part.
i dont know of anyone picking paulie over hatton...just based on he couldnt hurt him with a bat...and hatton was gonna be in his face the whole time..only thing that surprised me was that he stopped paulie...figured it would go 12
the way i look at it....is PAC made DLH look the way he did.....DLH looked pretty damn good in his sparring match with steve forbes a few months prior..... sometimes you just have to give the other guy credit...instead of discrediting DLH kinda like if your fav football team beats someone 42-0 ...either give the offense alot of credit...or **** on the other teams defense
There was a few people on here that were picking him over Hatton. But that's why I don't think it's overrated, cause I picked Hatton to win a lopsided UD. So I think to stop him even though Malignaggi could have went on makes it a little more impressive.
I hear ya. And I do give Pac credit. Like I said, you can only say so much about how DLH was. The rest you gotta just say Pac went in there and did what he had to do.
man I saw it, live at TV big screen! :nod yes Paul throw occasianally some left straight but that was pretty much it!:?
I agree...I'll be the first to tell you that I picked DLH due to size...Pacman has never fought at 147 and I thought that would be the main downfall for Pacman....Man, was I wrong!atsch Pac deserves credit for his part of closing the show, but the fact still remains that Oscar was like a zombie in that ring that night....Freddie Roach even acknowledged that and that should be taken into consideration.
Yea theres a difference between paper matches and the actual fight were age, weight, and ability play a huge rhole believe it or not. I dont think there was anything physically wrong with Pauly other than being scarred to fight, I dont get why he was pissed off with Buddy. Buddy was making him a favour.
Yep, Good thing for Hatton that night was Paulie cant punch for ****...He prorbably couldnt punch his was out of a wer paper bag...Overall, I kinda get what you're trying to imply...Both fighters(Oscar & Paulie) offer little resistance.
I know I may get a lot of **** for this post but I seriously think Lennox Lewis would probably beat a PRIME Tyson by a hard fought UD or late TKO....Tyson, even in his prime, had problems with Tall, lengthy fighters that could move and use their jabs....James Tillis pushed prime Tyson to the brink and I think in Lennox Lewis is a whole lot better than James "Quick" Tillis in every catergory...Given that Lennox was a very good boxer with power in both hands I see him keeping Tyson at bay...Lennox had the chin to stand up to Tyson's power. Just my opinion on it!:good
