'great old school tactics there from the master' When any american fighter fouls he's was to victory with headbutts ,low blows and shithouseing
Only being able to throw one punch effectively is an 'equaliser' if the boxer is from certain countries. He's just a limited fighter if he's from others.
Before 1970 there were no actual punches thrown it was as you just said. Brilliant ring IQ there as he rabbit punches and holds. And knees him in the bollix. A real throwback fighter.
Current average humans have an IQ 15 points higher than 100 years ago. Even though our DNA is 100% identical. Classic boxing aficionados here are vastly underrating the immense amount of progress not only in all sports but all disciplines of skill-based performance over the last 100 years.
"We can only apologise to the viewers for the bad language being used in the corner between rounds. But this is fight between two warriors and the stakes are high"
“Will need to go back to the drawing board” (Textbook defeated fighter reply in post fight interview) “I’m gonna have to sit down with my team and decide what’s next” (When asked about fighting a specific fighter that you want to avoid) “Ramrod jab” (Classic British Boxing) “You have to take the belt from the champion” (How to justify bad decisions) “The Sweet Science” (ffs) “Cherry Pick” (surprised no one else has mentioned)
Glass Jaw and the inconsistency of it's use. Khan goes up to a 155 catchweight that he considerably struggled to gain weight for and gets KO'd by a Mexican way over a stone heavier than him on the night and he is labelled as having a glass jaw again. This was the first time Khan had been stopped where he wasn't trying to get back up and carry on, we later found out that the Mexican was almost certainly using performance enhancing drugs. Linares gets stopped in the first round against little known Cano, not for the first time he has been stopped without wanting or being able to carry on, the jaw isn't mentioned. Both great boxers and neither I would really consider to be glass jawed but there we go, to quote The Dude "That's just your opinion man"
All it takes is one punch Styles make fights Punchers are born not made He's an incredible athlete (said about any AA fighter with a bit of musculature)
