You are spot on and 100%. Canelo won this fight on the factors judges take into account in scoring fights. I think a lot of people crying robbery had a predisposition beforehand that GGG should win. The story of this fight is that Canelo did what he wanted to do and stalked GGG pushing him back landing the cleaner effective eye catching punches as well as hurtful body punches. GGG did well not to get stopped which is a testimony to his toughness, determination and conditioning. He clearly does not abuse alcohol like some others have been known to. Even Abel Sanchez has no complaints as we now know who the true Mexican is!

Let me translate that for you....

I think a lot of people gloating victory had a predisposition beforehand that Canelo should win. The story of this fight is that Canelo didn't do what he wanted to do and was being effectively countered by hard GGG jabs as he was trying to push him back, while landing the flashy yet ineffective eye catching punches repeatedly on GGG's arms and shoulders but thankfully he did manage to get in some hurtful body punches in the middle rounds. Canelo did well not to get stopped which is a testimony to his toughness, determination and conditioning, in spite of him being hurt several times in the last 3 rounds. GGG clearly does not abuse alcohol like some others have been known to, what the **** does that have to do with anything other than a thinly veiled crack at Kovalev? Even Abel Sanchez has no complaints as we now know he's trying to play nice so GGG will get another huge payday. We now know who the true Mexican is, its Golovkin, because he actually won fighting Mexican style the first time, Canelo gave it a try the second time after he was goaded into it, and still lost fighting Mexican style and needed corrupt Vegas judges paid off by Mexicans De La Hoya and Sulaiman to hand him another controversial much debated MD.

    115-113 for Canelo
    114-114 Draw
    115-113 for Golovkin

Those are the only acceptable scores, imo Canelo edged it with more accurate and cleaner punching but it's a matter of opinion, it comes down to how you score a fight.

Both guys would have been deserved winners, there was no robbery.

40-0. I think people have a massive double standard against GGG. We expect GGG to win by a thunderous knockout or utter domination from start to finish. But when he shows his technical side and boxes wisely and edges on points, suddenly many start proclaiming that he lost, simply because we had expected him to win convincingly. It’s almost like he can’t win on points because of our expectations of him - especially against a fighter like Canelo who brings in money. There’s very few fighters who had to deal with this sort of double standard. Lastly, I would like to say that I am utterly heartbroken for GGG. From getting clearly robbed in the first fight to Canelo testing positive for PEDs to him walking to the ring first even as the champion, the man had been treated unfairly even before the fight had even begun. Yet, he fought a hard fought fight and climbed himself to victory only to get robbed of his well deserved victory once again at the pinnacle of his career. My heart goes out to GGG. It really does.

I am a GGG fan and I gave it to Canelo by 1 round. One thing which I think was a very big factor in the fight was the ring generalship. Who was forced to change there normal style? Canelo took the center of the ring and pushed GGG back alot. How many times have we ever seen this happen? It looked to me like GGG was dare i say it afraid to let go of his right hand because he was worried about the counter. Where as Canelo was throwing much more hard shots. The other thing you have to ask is yes GGG landed more jabs that was clear but how many jabs are worth the hard hooks and thunderous bombs Canelo was landing?

    :deal:

I can't believe how many mother****ers out there talk about decisions in boxing when they clearly don't have a ****ing clue what they're going on about. The Canelo-GGG fight was pretty clear cut if you know what you're watching.

Why can't we just accept the judges decision. There was a lot of complaining in the Jacobs GGG fight also. If you accept that score then you have to accept this score. One of the judges was the same I think. You could have 100 people judging this fight and half the people are going to complain anyway.

Defense is not scored bc the actual punching is what counts...you cannot win a fight on defense ..defence does not win fights its not actually scored ...show me a fight where a fighter won bc he evaded more punches but got hit more? ..since when? You guys must be new to boxing...lol

if you get hit more you usually lose the fight ...its BOXING the art of not getting hit but HAVING to hit the actual person.

judges are not actually going to look at a fight and see whos not getting hit they are going to see who is landing punches....end of.

    Its in the rules.

    Defense IS scored

    Clean punching is scored
    Ring generalship is scored
    Effective aggression is scored

Four elements of scoring a fight

Beat me to it. I might not agree with your take on this fight, but let's at least disagree based on the actual rules of scoring...
