Seems there's a lot on here that don't understand a jab is a scoring shot. Very sad canelo was given a boxing lesson was made to miss a lot and comprehensively beaten.

Galva you made a statement, and it was factually wrong. Deal with it. How can anyone step inside the mind of a judge an know what he was thinking when he filled in the card?

Defense is criteria for getting CREDIT it is the LAST thing on judging but is not actually attainable in a fight bc if they judge actual defense then EFFECTIVE aggression cannot be the number 2 criteria bc then it implies trying to not engage which is easier, would then have defense at number 2 ......

You cannot win a fight on defense...it is not actually scored if you are outlanded....you cannot win a fight without outlanding your opponent so having defense in a scoring card is actually non existant......

Now come back with something stupid as you always do when something goes over your head..lol

So you agree it's part of scoring a fight. Excellent.

Defense can be decisive in close rounds because it makes the opponent less accurate and therefore less effective which is also a scoring element.

But you don't win fights only because of defense.

    Yes in close fights.

you still have to land more punches.

However its the actual punches landing not avoiding them which gets tallied up on an actual scorecard.

Judges don't score avoided punches they only score landed ones ...what a dope you are..lol

If they had an actual cartegory for defense ( meaning avoided punches) then it would actually be implemented on the scorecards right, and one could win a fight without throwing punches actually ? Jesus.....

We really don't need to discuss this further. You made and error, I pointed it out to you and you corrected it...

Of course when your opponent throws 100 punches and you can avoid 90 of them but you don't throw a single punch by yourself then you won't win any rounds, lol.

The point is there is no actually category for avoided punches when scoring a fight......even if they say its a criteria.

If this was the case one would just not throw many punches at all and avoid a fight...it is why defense is actually not scored unles the better defensive fighter is outscoring an opponent..

You said defence played no part in the judging of fights. It was then pointed out to you that is incorrect. You then amended your position accordingly to rank it 4th in the list of criteria, which would be my position also. It takes a big man to admit his mistakes. Kudos....

God you are so bitter! I hold several degrees including post graduate degrees hence my words don’t require translation. Make your point instead of trying to interpret mine. Even Abel Sanchez and Tom Loeffler don’t think the judges were corrupt. If Canelo’s punches were eye catching ineffective punches then why did GGG just not walk right through them? I will tell you why the bruising on his face and cuts tell the story. Obviously they bothered him that he was trying to box from the outside as Canelo stalked him and pushed him back. GGG suddenly could not fight traditional Mexican style. If the body punches were ineffective why was GGG wincing and fatigued from the assault. GGG will get his rematch next year. He will be 37 then and it will only get worse for him as Canelo has his number. As far as I am aware Canelo is neither a US citizen nor does he hail from Las Vegas, he comes from Guadalajara, Jaslisco, Mexico and is a great fighter in the true Mexican tradition. A tremendous counter punching boxer puncher. GGG by comparison is fairly agricultural in his technique throwing wide hooks and an inaccurate jab but he has a great engine. I knew Canelo would be the one to make adjustments from the first fight. Boxing is more than just power it’s about skills, defense, ring generalship. One of the best things that happened to Canelo was facing Mayweather as it made him a better fighter. GGG is a straight up and down fighter with no special effects.

Credit to Canelo for fighting the way he should have the first fight but GGG outworked him and who lands more leather DOES MATTER, esp when you're supposed to be the bigger stronger fighter and your punches are seen as more dangerous. I'm looking forward to Autorias boxing's slow mo punch count because I guarantee GGG landed about 75 more punches and 25-30 more power shots. The amount of times I saw Canelo's head snap back was practically double. GGGs face was worse for wear, but Canelo was the one visibly shaken and looked at times close to being KOd. GGG never looked in trouble.
