Whoever landed more that round.....won the round.

Just bc you weren't hit does not mean you won the round...in reality one of those shots will likely look like it scored therefor a judge is inclined to score it....hence why they have aggression as number 2 on an official scorecard.

Its a good example of why defense is actually silly to use in the first place bc its punches tallied not how many punches you dodged.

Think @IntentionalButt already made this thread a while ago, only better and without an agenda.

    2 lessons yet not learned!

Only haterism provoke this false debate.
Oh yeah, if 3rd fight is signed, the same tune: " but, he will KO him as with Vanes"
(only wishful thinkings, not cold analysis)

What about the first fight? Judges are not god, the decision was yet another stinker. Punch and Jab stats matter in the end

You are a troll and one of the guys you are talking about that cannot judge a fight. As simple as it gets.

Double standards. Did you forget that the Mayweather fans are the same that are now nuthugging Canelo. They want us to think that Mayweather’s looks greater now...

The truth is simple hate, disproportionate, towards Canelo makes for this futile controversy,
and by it, i mean: the fight was extremely close, but in no way "robbery". Yet the most
ardent haters of Canelo/lovers of GGG, could say the same: "draw or one round to either
    fighter is fine".

Nobody had ever in boxing life of GGG backed down him, until now.

"To score a pro boxing fight you must factor into the scoring the fighters Defense, Clean punching, Ring Generalship and effective aggressiveness."

So remind me....With GGG being superior at all the above in the first fight, how the hell was it a draw?

Canelo clearly had better defense throughout the entire fight.
Canelo clearly landed the cleaner punches more consistently than GGG.

For ring generalship I gave Canelo rounds 1-4 and 10-12, and GGG obviously 5-9. Very even though.

For effective aggressiveness again, very close but I felt Canelo deserved that category because he was able to land more power punches through the fight and had a real body attack.

You can easily turn around that question and ask, With Canelo being superior in all of the above(in the rematch) how in the hell did some of you score the fight for GGG?

I used the same criteria to judge both fights and had GGG edging the first fight and Canelo winning the second one.

The only category that Canelo lost was the jab output/connect. No way GGG could have won the rematch based on that.

Ring generalship, defense, effective aggression all these things are just mechanisms to avoid or help deliver punches, nothing more. Boxing is about landing punches on your opponent and not taking it, there's no reason to overcomplicate the formula with fancy schmancy terms.

Cracks me up when people try acting as if the reason they are in the minority of people that felt one way about a fight, is because the other people dont know how to score or don't know what they are watching, when in reality the majority of the actual pros, coaches, writers and analysts are split (and Im being generous with that assumption, as majority of the pros Ive seen comment say Golovkin won)
