People certainly like to be experts. Phrases like "you don't know **** about boxing" is what puts me off this site this most. I really got back into boxing I think about 2006/2007. I was thrilled to find forums dedicated to the sport where I thought I could expand my knowledge and have great discussions with like minded people. How wrong I was. You get a good few posts, mostly though its fanboys saying the phrase mentioned earlier. You also get the know it alls that see what others don't see, only these trained eyes see it. They very rarely mention what "it is". We don't do much to help widen the appeal. Its not a elite club thats membership only. Its a sport, entertainment and should be enjoyed by all, no matter of knowledge or if you have laced them up.

 

Well what I love about the sport is you really do learn things from being a fan. That's learning certain styles can be beat by others, the signs when a upset May likely occur but I know where you are coming from about the know it all's.

 

Yeah I really do enjoy discussing fights and how the styles will gel. I may start posting some fight predictions - break downs of how I think fights will go and see what kind of reaction I get. Hopefully a positive one.

 

You will get some positive feedback everyone on the site isn't a fan boy there are boxing fans here.

When you consider that the posters on this site represent the pinnacle of boxing knowledge, understanding the sport better than 99% of the general population and only lagging behind professional pundits and those actually involved in the sport, one has to acknowledge that Roger probably has a point.

However, the poll results also indicate that none of us has the right to state a definitive opinion on the forums ever again without prefacing it 'well, IDkSAB but I think....".

Unless of course yuu feel that you happen to be one of the tiny minority who KSAB (which is probably all of us).:roll:

if the majority vote AGREE that most people know nowt about boxing, then their opinion (which is shared by most people) is void by their own vote's definition.

so 126 voted yes. since they are the majority (most being a majority), then they don't know **** about boxing. Now since those 126 don't know **** about boxing by their own admission, then we can conclude that they are wrong about most people knowing **** about boxing, and in fact, the majority do know **** about boxing.

not even half an oxymoron, its the full paradox.
