    Manny Pac is the most popular.

    Whole country behind him.

    Also most people who buy floyds ppv, are watching to hope he loses.

    Is that popularity?

    Pimp C still got his head firmly up Floyd's ass going on about PPV's. The amount of buys Floyd, or any fighter for that matter gets is a drop in the ocean compared to the following other fighters have, or had. Benn Eubank 1 had something like half a billion viewers worldwide and the rematch if i remember right had 13million in this country alone.**** knows how many asians watch manny fight but it makes Floyds audience look like a couple of men and their dog.

    Where I'm from everybody knows Pac, very few non-fans know about Floyd, and only fans know about the rest.

    To be fair, Khan isn't as ridiculous a suggestion as you'd think. I've got some relatives in ****stan, and from what they tell me, there's huge support for him there. Apparently, half the country practically shuts down whenever there's an Khan fight on, probably not to the extent the Philippines shuts down whenever Pacquiao's fighting, but still, he must be fairly popular in a country that's got 180 miillion people. Still, I'd say with the millions of fans Pacquiao's got in SE Asia, he's probably the most popular boxer in the world, followed by FMJ, and then the K Bros with their fans in Germany and Eastern Europe.

    Considering all these Pacquiao "fans" do is spend all day online talking about Floyd it is easily Floyd. Whether it is good or bad, at least they're talking about you. It is when they're not talking about you that you have to worry. Floyd threads still hit double digit page numbers on the regular. Manny threads don't get anywhere near that anymore. 5 months ago Manny. Now it is clearly Floyd.

    Floyd

    Manny

    We're talking about *****s here so what can you expect?

    The first post clearly says "Who has more fans"? Not "who has more PPV numbers", or "Who is more universally recognized worldwide?"

    Again, you are talking about marketability.

    Marketability != Likability

    It's already been said by me and countless others in this thread that manny has more fans. I prefer something that is too technical for the mainstream. **** loses its charm and can get cheapened once its readily accessible to everyone.

    Well, that's what this thread is about and what it was asking, so that's why we're talking about it.

    Even if you dispute his record Pac is pretty much a world icon at this point. Its not just the Philippines, after the June 8 Bradley fight a lot of big names took to twitter and facebook to voice their outrage at the outcome, people you had no idea were even into boxing, just tuned in to watch this little Asian dude fight. Two US senators pushed forward a bill to clean up the sport as a result. The entire sports world stopped and took a hard look at how corruption had tarnished boxing. If Floyd suffered the same kind of robbery? The general reaction would probably range from apathy to overjoyed.
    Threads on ESB are definitely the best way to gauge how popular a boxer is in the real world.:patsch
