    JuanMa.

He's far, far more skilled than Valero, just as quick and hit's just as hard.

Valero has power, but JuanMa has proved he has it too. De Leon was regarded as iron chinned before the right. He took bombs from Caballero, he took bombs from Rey Bautista, he got destroyed in a few punches by Lopez.

Not to say Valero can't do well, but JuanMa could be a superstar, and Valero will never get near that level.

De Leon wa a accident waiting to happen. Penalosa showed us that. Lopez is a good prospect, but when he fights Caballero or Vasquez... or someone capable, we'll see what he is made of. He has not been hit yet. When Lopez is hit, that is when we will find out if he is a true prospect.

Good stuff. Although I do think Juanma's speed is overrated. Big question mark I have over Juanma is how effective will he be if he gets dragged into the late rounds of a war.

I've seen Valero go to war with a good fighter (a nobody, but a good fighter none the less) and I know he has a good chin, heart and stamina. Not sure Juanma has had the opportunity to prove his yet.

I actually believe that both men could get to the superstar level (Juanman in PR is that already), but as things stand I agree that Junama is the more skilled and simply the "better" fighter.

I've sparring and training from JuanMa and I think we can safetly say he doesn't look to have any stamina issues. He works very hard.

Also, he went 10 round with Hugo Dianzo, the furthest he's been admittedly, but he had enough left to stop him late on, and Dianzo is a tough little Mexican who doesn't get stopped very often.

Valero is an exciting fighter with a good combination of speed & power, but he needs to improve his overall boxing skils, I mean he picks his punches prety well and they're pretty crisp and accurate, but I mean they're still a bit wild, and his chin is still wide open.

I'm not convinced by Valero's chin, I mean Mosquera had him on the canvas, and he was the first decent fighter he fought. I haven't seen the fight with Pitalua yet, I don't know whether he took any big punches, but if a C+ fighter like Mosquera, who's not really noted as a big puncher, can have him on the canvas, I think other's are capable. Also he's knocked everybody out so I'm not sure about his stamina and whether he can go the distance at all, or stop good guys late on, I mean he's only been 10 at the furthest aswell, along with JuanMa, but I mean I'm saying Lopez has good enough stamina so I'll take your word for it that Valero's is fine aswell.

I think Valero is definetly improving, you look at his early fights and his defense was wider, his chin was higher, and he was extremely wild with his flurries- which is still the case but its not nearly as extreme. So, I do see and improvement, and learned skills are a lot easier to aquire than than raw punching power.

But Yeah, I mean, maybe I'm being a bit over optimistic here, as I always say that one fight really doesn't prove anything good or bad about a fighter, you have to judge over a period of time. But the Mosquera fight was a real eye opener. I think Mosquera showed himself to be a good, solid fighter, he put Valero down fairly early, but he actually landed a lot harder and cleaner shots, more often, towards the end of RD5 and into 6, and Valero took them no problem.

Also, Valero became stronger as the fight went on, his punch output increased, his was moving a lot more freely, and he was landing to the body a lot more than I had ever seen him do. Definetly no stamina issues there.

Pitula was a good opponent as well, much better than some are giving Valero credit for, and the nature of yet another dominaiting performance and KO from Valero is definetly a good sign for the future. I think Valero can cut it with the major players, he just needs to develop more learned skills, at a quicker pace perhaps.

Oh he's definately improved, and Pitalua is a step in the right direction.

I just think we need to see him step up another level before we proclaim him ready to knock out guys like JMM, Pac and Hatton.

Same with JuanMa to an extent. I still don't think he's ready for guys like Vazquez or Marquez yet, if they are still their old selves after the trilogy anyway.

Agreed. It's easy to get caught up in the post-fight hype sometimes. Both guys need to be brought along slowly, a couple more Pitalua types for Valero. I have a feeling Juanma may be one fight removed from a step to far, a lot of people have built him up to Tito-like levels already.

i picked juanma, mainly for the fact he is younger. Hence should have the more time to develop.
Nevertheless, a 2 weight world champ who's 25-0 with 25 ko's seems a solid foundation for greatness!! might have to renege on my vote!!

Sheer brute force is useless when you start fighting guys that actually know how to block or slip a punch.

Once again you show us zero boxing knowledge (or 'nallege' as you prefer).

You say De Leon was a bum, then in the next sentence you compare him to an ATG in Julian Jackson.

Can you do everyone here a favour and smack yourself? :patsch
