In terms of raw power: would you rank Fraziers left hook above, below or at the same level as the following:

    Tua
    Tyson
    Cooney
    Morrison
    Brewster
    Foreman
    Liston
    Wlad
    Ruddock
    Dempsey

Nice list, but my man Henry Cooper is missing.

Is that list in hierarchical order? Is Tua supposed to own the GOAT hook?

It put Ali down when two of the hook of two other guys on the list didn't. So...

He hit hard but he’d need to hit you a lot. Does that make sense? His hands got in front of his hips. Guys like Wlad, Tyson and Dempsey punched properly and the result was obvious.

Quite a few heavyweights probably had harder left hooks than Frazier with one punch. Most of the big left hookers in history were in general bigger, heavier than he was.
Tua , Cooney, Morrison, Tyson, Weaver, Louis Liston, Foreman, more than likely had a harder left hook.
But what separates Frazier from them was speed, accuracy, timing, feel or intuition , and relentlessness.
Power is great. But one must have the ability to land it.
Liston, Foreman, and Frazier all probably hit harder with the left hook than Henry Cooper.
But it was Cooper that damn near koed Ali....
Think about that for a minute.

I think so. He handed George Chuvalo a stoppage loss. Dropped Muhammad Ali. Beat quarry to a pulp twice.

He's a bit below those guys but the thing is he hit damn hard and he hit hard every time round after round after round. His hook was also big volume and extremely difficult to avoid over the course of a fight. You could argue his hook was "greater" than all of those.

I don’t know that Joe’s was the hardest as in packing the most power, but I’d rate his as maybe the most punishing. Beat people down with it and it was wincing.

Frazier’s in the discussion for as long as you rate Ali’s chin as great. With one hook, Frazier took his legs away in the eleventh round of that first fight.

But I still consider Dempsey’s better.

Frazier's hook certainly has a score, but I can't say it's the most powerful hook.
Let's say Wlad's hook is more powerful than Frazier's, but I'm not exactly a boxing expert :)

I think it was the 15th round.

Most powerful one-punch left hook? No. Overall best left hook? Yes. Speed, timing, unpredictability, consistently punishing, etc.

Frazier wasn't someone with a variety of weapons, where you never knew what he was going to throw to try to KO his opponents. With Frazier, it was the left hook. His opponents ALL knew Frazier's main and best weapon was that left hook, no doubt spent endless time in camp preparing to defend against left hooks, and then stepped into the ring... and kept getting whacked by that left hook over and over. That's how good his speed, timing, and unpredictability with it was.

His left hook was so good, look what he accomplished in his career with basically two punches. Right to the body, left hook to the everything.
