Flicking through pre war fighters on boxrec and came across Len Wickwar who had a total of 466 fights. With a total 3965 rounds boxed.

Does anyone know if someone has fought more times? or more rounds that Wickwar?

Wickwar has the most fights ever.
467 fights, almost 4000 rounds. That equals 12000 minutes = 200 hours. That's just incredible

And he did it all in 18½ years time, that's a fight every 2 weeks on average.

Nowadays that's completely unthinkable, certainly with KO losses inbetween.
I see he would fight within a week or sometimes even within a couple of days after a KO loss. No sanctioning body with any concern for the fighters would allow that anymore.

Wickwar is the most active fighter on boxrec in terms of bouts...not 100% certain on rounds but I'd imagine so

Simply amazing. Pulled up his boxrec and it is unbelievable.

He fought on back to back nights November 28th and 29th 1938, winning both.

Nine days after losing a 12 round decision (to a fighter with 226 wins) he won a 10 round decision over a guy with 38 wins.

On September 8th, 1937 he won a 10 round fight. On the 13th he won a full 12 rounder.

Those highlights just the highlights on the first page. His boxrec has SEVEN pages.

As fortune would have it, Len was once defeated by Billy Bird, who had 354 professional fights, in a career that extended from 1920-1950. Len and Billy both had well over 300 prize fights in their respective career when they met inside the ring.
