A guy can still win a world title and be a disappointment, though not a bonafide failure

The one that surprised me the most was Andy Lee. They hand picked Vera to make Lee look good on national television, and Vera handed him his ass! It was shocking! The Kahn loss didn't surprise me near as much. I never thought Kahn was the real deal.

Please explain to me how either has fallen short.

Though I do think Ward could have been more active (thought I know he had some injury problems) his talent is unquestionable and he's 16-0 with 11 KO's.
His combined opponents record in his last 4 fights is 75-6-1, and he stopped all 4 in less than 8 rounds.

As for Peterson, I think a guy with 28 fights should have fought better competition at this point, but again he's still undefeated. And I think he will really do well once he breaks into the upper rankings of the lightweight division.

Can't agree with either "falling short".

i reckon seeing as though lacy was being hailed as the second coming of tyson he qualifies for a prospect who fell short.
do you have a calzaghe doll at home to stick pins in? it seems you are far more fascinated about him than me. i just think he's alright, whereas you seem to go rabid whenever the mild mannered welshman is mentioned.
someone started a perfectly good thread here, maybe you should put forward your views rather than getting on my back.

no i actually agree with you on this one.

but i needed to do that to get you to post an honest response that backed up your argument after you wanted to be totally disrespectful to me the first time you answered me on that other thread.

backing up your opinion is all i ask.

Howard Davis. He won a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and was named most outstanding boxer of those games. That team included Sugar Ray Leonard, the Spinks brothers, and Leo Randolph. All those guys became world champions as pros, but inexplicably Howard never did.
