It has been awhile since I posted in earnest, but the sweet science is never too far from my mind.

Who are some of the most protected fighrers (champions or otherwise)? Fighters that got to the top while seemingly avoiding the toughest competition?

This comes from Clubber Lang crashing Rocky's statue unveiling...Gettin' out while you can?!?

    Deontay wilder!

There's alot of fighters with only 1 or 2 decent names on their resume, kell brook, Danny Garcia.

Before people mention anthony joshua, he's had 16 fights!

Danny Garcia has one of the better resumes in boxing, if you count the close fights for him. I don't know how you could pick his name. I guess he ducked Postol.

As champions I'll go with Ray Mancini and Brian Mitchell

    Both made the IBHF.

    Matchmaking helped.

Both benefited from weak WBA ratings.

For supporters or detractors of these two fighters, what fighters did they beat which you could sell them as IBHF material?

Not a shot at them, but the best names on Mancini's are losses...not saying I didn't enjoy his fights.

Kell Brook, Deontay Wilder and Danny Garcia.

None of them have fought a really good opponent in years.

I would say no particular guys they beat could sell them as IBHF material.

Mancini beat not yet peak Jose Luis Ramirez and Mitchell beat past his peak Tony Lopez. Those were the best guys they beat.

Conversely, Donald Curry beat a near peak Marlon Starling and a peak McCrory, in a title unification fight, no less.

    He's not in the Hall.

Tzyu's list of victims isn't too good either, but at least he beat a prime Judah, even though Zab turned out to be very flawed.

Fighting Holyfield 3 times though pretty much removes Bowe from consideration of most protected.

Yes, Ferguson and Dokes were weak, but even Ferguson had just upset Mercer. If that hadn't happened, Bowe would have likely fought Mercer.

It's funny how so many put Lewis up on a pedestal and one of his best wins was over a faded Holyfiled - a Holyfield who wasn't nearly as good a the Holyfield Bowe beat for the title.

Every single Duva fighter but Whitaker. A virtual bums train.
Gerry Cooney-should go thru life in bubblewrap. Lightweight to welterweight Mayweather.
    Patterson-revisionist are full of ****.
    Sammy Seranno.
Frampton and de la cruz and all those gutless fighters who avoided Rigondeaux .
Leonard Ray and rematch refusal and only fighting in a selfstyled house.

Mayweather fighting EVERY fight in his adopted hometown to reap all the benefits of kind.
