Of these 3 big PPV fights (2 in UK, one in USA) before the end of the year where there are heavy favourites in each fight ... who has the best chance of providing the upset?? My opinion, although Tyson Fury is by far the shortest odds - I think Dillian Whyte has the best chance as if you mute the hype machine, there is very little to seperate their records (knock everyone out, neither been beyond 4 rounds ... )
Whyte has a very good chance of beating Joshua if he can land and doesnt go into survival mode after Joshua hits him i have a feeling Joshua is packing a glass chin, just waiting to be shattered
Posting response here too: Whyte would have been beyond 4 rounds 3 times if the fights were scheduled for more than 4. Which brings me to my next point: He hasn't knocked everyone out. That said I agree looking at the records there isn't a great deal in it Personally I'd give Fury the best chance, followed by Whyte, followed by Lemieux.
The very exciting thing about all 3 fights, is the underdog in each case GENUINELY believes he WILL win! And, also, in each case the champion [GGG & Wlad] recognises this and seems wary of their opponent. Joshua and Whyte is for a vacant belt, so slightly different.
I think he actually does, although that's not what I said! I said I think Wlad, like Golovkin, recongise that their opponent - for the first time in a long while, both believes they can win and genuinely thinks they will. I think Whyte does too 100% but I am not sure Joshua is treating him with the experience and Champs mentality that these much older p4p guys are treating Fury and Lemiuex ... which is why I sense the upset for Whyte vs AJ.
WLad will KO Fury, you british fans are the best but also most deluded! Easy win. Lemiux has the best chance but its not much of a chance...
I watched those two amateur fights people tend to judge AJ first one AJ is stopped standing up, slight wobble but is in no trouble at all. Just a case of poor defence. Against whyte, he got hit with a beautiful combination but it only landed as aj was throwing wildly. and got hit with a sweet sweet right. that being said he got straight up and fought the whole fight. Fury is my vote Would love to see Lemieux win because to do it he'd have to do something special and I'm staying up to watch
Dillian Whyte has the best chance to to beat Joshua, as he has the previous win and knowing he has already beaten him. Fury has the biggest task, there is nothing i have seen from Fury to say he can beat Klitschko and he has alot to do and away from home. Golovkin has a good chin and heavy punch, Lemiuex has been downed before by Rubio who himself was downed by Golovkin.
In order of each underdog's chance of pulling the upset: 1. Joshua/Whyte: See Dibbs above, but Joshua likely wins 2. LEMIUEX/Golovkin: At least Lemiuex will give Golovkin a few problems and make him work hard for awhile 3. Klitschko/Fury: Easy night for Klitschko
I posted this on both Current and here and the results are the same as the bookies. I guess Fury is favoured as he is the younger, bigger man and Wlad is 40 and has been stopped 3 times and dropped lots whereas Joshua and Golovkin haven't. I still think Whyte can embarrass Joshua and there is, in reality almost nothing to seperate the two fighter's achievements to date - whereas as GGG and WK have genuine champion legacies to protect.
