Canelo can’t KO price lmao. He’s too small and won’t have the power hahaha. This is bloody insane. Price has a 12 inch reach advantage. He’d just land a bomb from range and spark Canelo. Whenever Canel tried fo get up close and I doubt he could get past the jab he would be leaned on and he’d tire out. As I said before you’d have to be really stupid or mentally challenged to think Canelo would win that matchup.

The best guy Canelo could go after from that generation is Iran Barkley and I wouldn't put my money on either in that match up.

Well, I think he'd beat Benn, Eubank, Jackson and probably McClellan. But yeah, I'd pick him over Barkley, too. Guys like McCallum, Kalambay, Nunn, Toney, Watson, Jones, Reggie, Graham and later B-Hop made for one special division. If Canelo was around then, he'd do okay but he'd just be another name in the mix. Same with GGG.

I think McClellan is underrated these days. He put fear in his opponents/division like few since.

Benn also definitely had enough of an X factor to potentially upset Canelo in the most dramatic of fashions. An explosive two handed puncher, if Saul lapses for a second early doors, if he's a little slow or a little late then Nigel has all the tools to obliterate him the same way he could anyone else.

@George Crowcroft I'm not sure I can think of another middleweight I'd be less confident of picking an ATG talent at the weight against than Benn. His skills literally scream upset.

See I actually find McClellan a little overrated. I think people fell in love with his power, much like he did.

Although Benn is a little temperamental. You go wrong vs him and you wake up the next morning asking what round it is. However, whilst I think he was a bit better at middleweight than he was at 168, I think the main differences were that he was a much, much more concussive puncher and he was quicker, whereas at 168 he was a little tougher with better stamina. But Canelo is quicker imo, and has the chin to withstand Benn's best. Canelo is also an amazing counter-puncher and we saw what Watson could do to Benn with crisp counters.

I think Benn could hurt anyone at 160 from Marvin to Saul. His power at the weight demands respect.

As for Gerald, I think he did fall in love with power but I hat just makes the version of him that did a lesser version than the hungry version that didn't. A bit like how I see Donaire.

Maybe. Although Sugar Boy Malinga didn't seem to mind. I love Benn though, the guy was like a middleweight Gatti, but much better than Gatti. I think if you put him in with someone like Derevyanchenko, Pavlik or GGG, you'd get an amazing, to and throw war where both men come out damaged. I'd love to see some of those. And I'd love to see him beat the **** outta Eubank Jr. :naughty2:

McClellan in the Jackson fights was good, but far from great IMO. He was fighting a guy rumoured to be about 25lbs lighter than him, although I think it's closer to 15. But still. From his record, Canelo probably wins a close decision over him, which is what he tends to do vs good fighter who fell just short of greatness.

Well the other thing we don't know is if Canelo would be better or worse for fighting wherein he didn't know close rounds would def be going his way.

Hagler would have rang ring rounds him. Same with Jones and Toney.
He should have lost twice to old as hell GGG, who most put well below the likes of Hagler and Jones.
    They beat him easily.
