Usyk beating Joshua for me. The stage was set, clueless footballers like Declan Rice and Mason Mount in the crowd picking ‘Joshua in 4 rounds’, Bellew there irritating as ever, the ridiculous entrance and flaming AJ sign.. then he gets demolished! In some ways though, I found Ruiz beating Joshua even more ‘satisfying’ because it was such an upset.
Definitely Fury destroying Wilder. Wilder and his team thought Fury was finished, and it was a great comeback story for Fury. AJ vs Usyk wasn't really an upset. AJ vs Ruiz was way more of an upset than AJ vs Usyk.
I think Bivols defeat of Canelo gets my vote, we all knew that Wilder and AJ had limitations, so would not class them necessarily as upsets. Seeing a good solid professional like Bivol, who was not into all the jive/trash talk derailing the Canelo train, was for me most satisfying on the night.
Do people consider Bivol vs Canelo an upset? I guess its only an upset in the fact everyone assumed (quite rightly) that the scorecards would be pre-filled.
The three listed above by name were not upsets at all. Kambosos beating Lopez was very satisfying then Haney's dominating win over Kambosos on his own soil was almost as satisfying.
Ruiz's buster douglas moment was amazing. But it was also nice to see canelo not only lose, but actually OFFICIALLY lose. I don't know all the wheelings and dealings that his camp are responsible for behind the scenes, but at the end of the day I just don't trust the judges in a canelo fight. And the fact all 3 judges gave canelo the first 4 rounds was very suspicious, but miraculously the judges seemed to come to their senses and realized that giving canelo the win would have been too absurd and would have likely cost them all their careers and could have potentially caused serious harm to the legitimacy of the sport.
I wouldn't call that a dominating win. You don't dominate someone for 12 rounds and not leave a mark on their Face. It was a bore fest where Haney just did enough in most rounds to win
From the poll I voted Bivol/Canelo, but in reality, for me, I say Madiana whooping Broner and Fonfara beating Chavez Jr.
