Marciano said he purposely psyched himself out before a fight with fear of returning to the shoe factory or road construction.

He convinced himself that his opponent had that in mind for him.

Agree. And my recollection is that Tyson did not train particularly long for that fight, either.

Most, if not all, fighters carry a certain amount of fear into the ring. This has been spoken about by countless fighters. I think the TS means something a little different, and as someone mentioned earlier, the tyson-Bruno 2 is as good a pick as any

I dont know about that...he appeared to be in excellent condition and most people consider that fight Tyson at his best. Kevin Rooney was still in his corner so i'm sure he came prepared despite Don king and Robin Givens entering his life

    Wow, seriously?

That might just be the saddest yet the most hilarious boxing trivia I've ever read.

Vicente Rondon looked like he was going to the Gallows against Bob Foster.

Funny story about this fight. At the time jack dempsey had taken baer under his wing and the story goes that Baer was terrified of louis in his dressingroom and was reluctant to move when jack told him it was time. Jack looked him square in the eye and said either you fight louis out there or you can fight me in here. Max elected to fight louis lol

..levinsky was so scared the fight had to be moved up because of "threatening weather" though the sky was totally clear. when the fight started he sat on the center rope and moved sidewise, and some sports guys at ringside said the heard him pleading with the referee not to let the bomber hit him. carried into the ring is an exaggeration but his handlers crowded
him so he couldn't move as they came down the ring.

Foreman said when he fought Fraiser, he was hoping that Fraiser would look him in the eye at the staredown so that he couldn't see his knees shaking

I haven't seen the fight for a bit but I remember Greg Richardson ran for his life from Jeff Fenech and was clearly shitting it big time.
