At 7-10 days notice. His preparation to fight Calzaghe was a joke.

Eubank hadnt beaten a top ranked fighter ion 3 years before the Calzaghe fight.

He had pushed Collins close but he still lost.

IMO Eubank losing to Collins is proof that he wasn't what he was. Collins was tough but Eubank, at his best, would never have lost to him.

Conjecture but that is what I believe.

    ehhh,wouldnt go that far.

I think Eubank was at or very neaar prime when Collins beat him.

He didnt fight Calzage until 2 years after the 2nd Collins fight.

Eubank agreed and made no excuses, maybe you shouldn't either.

    Eubank "Weight wasn't a problem"

    TG1: "You ****ING LIAR!"

Its not ideal conditions for either man, it was a short notice fight. We can say it wasn' the best of Eubank...but SHOT? At 31 with only two contested loses while looking great in ihs last two outings. Not to mention Eubank did very well against Joe. Give me a ****ing break.

Eubank is an excellent win for the young Calzaghe who had never even fought past 8 rounds before. CONTEXT people.

Collins was a bad style match up for Eubank and he still almost beat him in his own back yard.

Eubank wasn't anywhere near prime when he fought calzaghe. Eubanks a strange one, definatly lost the killer instinct after he damaged Michael Watson, he visibly declined after that . Still a top fighter up to and after calzaghe though. I saw the fuirst Thompson fight live and he was still great to watch. Loved Eubank.

    Here's something to consider though...

That version of Eubank was still probably a better fighter than Froch. No disrespect to Froch, who is an excellent fighter, but Eubank was a real great.

    Swallow and gulp **** *****!

I don't give a **** what Eubank said in terms of making no excuses, he was on to a far bigger payday and a world title shot. He would say anything!

Eubank took the fight and had to lose an additional seven pounds and be ready for a volume punching southpaw in his twenties, when he hadn't made the weight in 2 YEARS.

Yeah, you're right, his preparation was ideal, wasn't it dickhead?

PS - Nobody is denying that it's a good win for the Calzaghe, so take your furry tongue out of his *******.

All the unprovoked aggression, name calling, and always popular on ESB homoeroticism is.....interesting. Are you a repressed homosexual?

I'm not even sure what you are arguing now or who you are arguing with. I agreed that the short notice wasn't ideal conditions or the best Eubank. Its really a much more valid excuse than "shot" as there is no evidence of the former. However...

The turth is after the fight when Eubank could have made excuses, he didn't. He couldn't really. In fact he was in great condition and finished strong, while Calzaghe was the one huffing and puffing.

I do not like Froch and I do like Eubank. Eubank was ill prepared, weight drained causing to have zero energy and strength. Froch just could not deal with the faster/better man who threw him off with his gameplan . . . He had no plan B. I will not say out right Froch would beat Eubank (because I only think Froch is an overachiever) but that version of Eubank was very vulnerable and Froch (until last week) always found a way to win (or be in a position to win)
