    The correct answer on the issue adressed in the thread is that neither where shot. It is quite alarming not more posters grasps this immediately.

    He did beat a prime Eubank.

    Eubank was in his prime when Collins beat him!

    Eubank was 28 and undefeated in 43 fights when he first fought Collins!!

    Maybe because he was having trouble making weight, was thinking about campaigning at LHW or CW and the fight was on short notice? Do you think rapid weight loss might hurt you physically and hurt your performance? Maybe, just maybe he might be more worried about making the weight than the fighter across the ring? I might have embellished a bit on my last statement but if you think he was at or near his prime the only person you are fooling is yourself. Given his issue with weight it in fact did make him vulnerable to a top fighter, who just happened to be Joe.

    Oh but I forgot that he had such a long and successful career after that fight:good

    When does a prime fighter become past his prime? Maybe when he loses? If he is fighting elite fighters his loss will be against a top fighter. plus, the struggle with weight didn't help much either

    Calderon was P4P and looked almost unbeatable before he lost, then people realized that he was not the fighter he once was,

    I guess 15 of his title defenses and entire time at or near the top of the Super Middle Weight division he was a *****...so for the most successful run of his career..he was apparenlty a shot *****. Love this board..love this board.

    -Well, I fail to see how Eubank's Superfights with the Cruiserweight Champion has any bearing on Calzaghe. Just pointing out the details beyond your...he lost his next two fights. Yeah against the Crusier Champion with an eye injury.

    -Speculation is not the proof in the pudding. Never been in the ring with him in his prime? Are you calling these guys duckers? Collins got fed to the Champ McCallum in just his 17th fight. You guys don't know dick.
