Apparently Tyson. Just for the aficionados that one I think, I for one had never heard of his exploits Wilfredo Gomez IMO is a great example of a great finisher. But comparing Haye, still active, to ATG decimators is a but unfair ImO
Another great finish from the most skilled fighter in Britain, baaaaw!! :rofl:nut 8.26 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR46e8yUnRc[/ame]
I said he was 'most skilled' not 'best finisher'. As IO say, if you've got any clips of Ian Napa beating World Class fighters I'll admit his skillset is 'World class' and therefore 'Britains best'. As it stands I'll go for the most proven guy, who, whilst not being perfect, has some bloody good attributes. If the thread title was 'most technically proficient' then I'd be more inclined to go for Napa. But Haye has some serious skills, easily viewable in his last fight, where he beat one of the top 3 in his 2nd DIVSION!!!!! Ian Napas shoulder roll hasn't even got him past Euro level. Bummer. If only someone had uploaded the Napa-Bouziane fight onto youtube I could play in the same childish games. Alas, no ones bothered to upload it.
In short, although I like Napa, I think it's become quite trendy to label him 'unheralded' or to big up his skillset as 'World class' when in fact there are other feather fists who have reached the top of their respective divisions. Napa has some serious skills; obviously not thatskilled otherwise he would've utilised them to get to the top of his division, power or not, bad decisions or not.
People seem to be completely disregarding power as a skill. In a game where you're trying to knock your opponent out, the art of punch power must actually be about the greatest skill of all?
He is neither. What childish games? you mean posting valid evidence(videos) that Haye is every bit the fighter ive been saying he is, one who is poor defensively, has poor balance and is a wreckless finisher who lunges and gets wide when he goes for the kill? most of those video support this. Haye is like Foreman in the sense that his power has taken him further than his talent. Ive saw the Bouziane fight so no need.
What?!?!?!?!? Being able to throw hard punches is a talent, especially when you couple it with an iron chin and stiff jab that george had. Just realised you started the thread and are obviously bitter than it hasn't turned out as a love thread for your man Napa.
Nope. Im not bitter as i understand that breaking a fighters skills down is challenging for some more so than for others. Bitter? you spent the last how many posts trying to get me to respond like posting this that and the other about Napa's inadequacies and ive hardly responded to any. I think its just a case of you and your boy drinking the Haye cool-aid and making him to be better than he is, im just keeping the perception here.
My boy?!?!?!? Better than he is; the dominance of one-weight (Cunningham excluded though he got showed up anyway) and the beating of a top 3 fighter at the above weight show how good he is pal. I only got involved in this debate because of your inaccuracies regarding Haye's skillset. Fair play, you backed up your point regarding Hayes finishing. But does that show that Haye is not the most skilled fighter? No, but the Valuev fight shows he arguably is. Break something down?!?!? Are you questioning my boxing knowledge?
I believe that. Valuev palease!! Well im questioning you Boxing knowledge regarding the mechanics of the sport yeah.
NAPA IS ABSOLUTE SHITE...HIS FIGHTS R DIPLORABLE AND RUINED MY FRIDAY NIGHTS EVEN RUINED MY SATURDAYS:thumbsup
Me? Seriously? Your dismissal of Valuev shows you have no clues of the 'mechanics of the sport', which by the way you and I could go on all day about, there would only be one 'victor', as stupid as that is on an internet forum. No offence.
