Dempseys KO's were due to an accumulation of punches, not one punch KO's, there are many more spectacular KO's than Dempseys that were listed

Pattersons KO of Johansson for one

I'm astonshed that Firpo is above Willard and just can't belive that they've got Firpo above the Louis-Schmeling thing. That is...bull**** is the only word I can think of.

Also, why is Liston-Patterson all the way down there? I'd have Louis-Schmeling at #1, Liston-Patterson at #2 and Dempsey-Willard at three taking the timing of the list into account.

I think both Lewis-Rahman KO's deserve consideration post list.

Thanks for posting it Senya, never see it before.

EDIT: Are 1-3 a tie for 1st place? That makes me feel a bit better if that's the case.

    Johansson KO3 Patterson
    Ali KO1 Liston

These are out of place particularly since they weren't clean knockout blows. The Patterson rematch should rank higher than the original, I think

Yeah. They had 10 experts to deside them.
The fight at 4th place got 8 points out of possible 10.
    5-6 - 5 points.
    7-9 - 4 points.
    10-13 - 3 points.
    14-18 - 2 points.
    19-... - 1 point.

There's also 'Top Fights, By Decades' in the same issue, but there are too many to type them. Here's a sample:

    First Decade 1892-1900
Sep. 7, 1892 - Jim Corbett knocked out John L. Sullivan in 21 rounds. New Orleans. Heavyweight title.
March 17, 1897 - Bob Fitzsimmons knocked out Jim Corbett in 14 rounds. Carson City, Nev. Heavyweight title.
June 6, 1899 - Jim Jeffries knocked out Bob Fitzsimmons in 11 rounds. Coney Island, N.Y. Heavyweight title.
November 3, 1899 - Jim Jeffries outpointed Tom Sharkey in 25 rounds. Coney island, N.Y. Title defense.
May 11, 1900 - Jim Jeffries knocked out Jim Corbett in 23 rounds. Coney island, N.Y. Title defense.
January 9, 1900 - Terry McGovern knocked out George Dixon in 8 rounds. New York. Featherweight title.
September 6, 1892 - George Dixon knocked out Jack Skelly in 8 rounds. New Orleans. Featherweight title defense.
June 1, 1896 - Kid Lavigne knocked out Dick Burge in 17 rounds. London. World lightweight title.
March 2, 1896 - Kid McCoy knocked out Tommy Ryan in 15 rounds. Maspeth, N.Y. Welterweight title.
September 12, 1899 - Terry McGovern knocked out Pedlar Palmer in first round. Tuckahoe, N.Y. World bantam title.

I thought Tyson Spinks may have got a mention, especially considering the hype preceding it.

Nobody mentioned Lewis' spectacular KO against Rahman?. Totally amazed. That was spectacular with the a capital S. Blinding left hook with the right hand behind it.

Marciano's right hand against Walcott was a nice punch as well. Joe Louis had so many throughout his career.

I think Patterson-Johansson II should be much higher.
