Nothing extreme.. not eating anything heavy, just sugary sweets, the 16hrs before weighin (including 10hrs asleep that night).

aye,i always thought that drinking water consistently always helped speed up things like metabolism etc.

ive never done anything really bad,i just make sure i have a good old skip on the morning and am usually fine ... i dont agree in the ams. trying to cut weight too much unless you are a championship level fighter.

the way boxers cut weight ams an pro dont leave them healthy
in the ams u have 2 most probably dehydrated or bloated fighters fighting an in the pros there 3 weight classes above what they should be
but 4 the health of the fighter i say pro is better

years ago i was 135 pounds a week before a tournament in which the weight range was 114-119. No one in the division above so i thought I'd try to drop lower.

in four days, i got down to 125 and than i didn't eat for a day. the weigh in comes..I weighed in at 123.5 and than i was sent into a sauna where i stood for 30 minutes on 3 different times. finally, after the 3rd time i weighed 121.5 and i was sent home.

the whole way home, i felt like i was going to die. i arrive home and just fell onto my floor

    im a 5'8 168-164 pounder

and being in tkd kickboxing i had to choose either to go light heavy that would mean im alright i dont have to worry about wieght but im gonna have a tough time against guys who are 6'2 or go to middlewieght which means only 4 pounds....i took the safe route and took middlewieght

after a long run round gunnersbury a light breakfast, lunch and dinner and only 1 bottle of water the day before the tourney.
i get there and wieght ****ing 145 1/2 pounds!!!!!
    :yikes

next tourney i thought i could do the same thing and possible get to lightwieght (and with few wieght drainers in these comps)

did the same routine almost exactly or as much as i could remember and wieghed in at 150 odd pounds.

    what on earth man :huh

Won in the 3rd round. It had more to do with the fact that the guy I was fighting was I believe 2-5 he wasnt good by any means infact hes the worst ive ever fought but I was weak he buckled my knees at one point.

...in the amateurs I had a grudge match with this *******..and he was two weight class over me, so I weighted with the pants of my sweets, with my pockets full of change...and two bottles of water on my ankles so my trainer let me do the fight.....I won the fight by a total sweap of the judges!!!!

I haven't cut any for boxing, but highschool wrestling was a *****! My junior year I went from 145 to 112. You don't really have a chance to gain weight after a match either since you have tournaments every weekend. That got hard as hell to keep up after a while. My diet was basically gum and water for 3 months straight lol.

I've done that. Weighed in will all my clothes on with my keys and phone and wallet in my pockets and just barely made it. I think I even had my shoes on.

What's easier going up or down in weight before a fight? I always did bad going down because the guys were so much more faster than me. Going up in weight you have to face the big scary feirce guys. Once in the ring the big guys aren't that bad afterall. In judo and wresting its the opposite though.
