    He had a pretty good number of amateur fights. They were all before he got locked up though.

    I think Duran had a pretty short amateur career.

    Jimmy McLarnan, who became the welter champ, don't believe had ANY amateur experience, and turned pro at like 16 or 17.

    Was fightin' HOFers from the git-go. His comp ranks with the best that's ever put on gloves.

    Arguello turned pro at 15 or 16 years of age.

    Mancinni only had around 40 amatuer fights and wasn't that great.

    Supposedly only 4-5 amateur fights is this true? And then going 44-1-1 and beating 2 future hall of famers by age 23. That is crazy.
