I was recently watching Livingston Bramble vs Tyrone Crawley yesterday and got to thinking. Crawley was a hell of a boxer but was feather fisted (less than 30% ko ratio) and in that fight bramble eventually just started walking him down and overpowering. Are feather fisted fighters doomed to fail? To be the top guy in a division do you need to have power? Who are the biggest pillow-fisted success stories? Paulie Malignaggi made a good career, but was never the top guy in his division. Mayweather is not pillow fisted before anyone tried to claim that. Who are some great fighters that just didn't have ko power?
Sven Ottke altho obviously a lot of people don't take his reign seriously. And although he knocked out some low level guys, I would argue Chris Byrd.
I remember him having respectable dig especially at lightweight..but I didn't go into many of his fights expecting to see ko's..having said that it's along time ago now so this is probably why my memories of him are as a featherfisted boxing genius
Extreme is silly since he battered Wilder, it was his stance that stopped him from hitting hard it was too narrow, put more into his shots v Wilder, don`t forget most of Fury`s shots are jabs.
