Carl Froch can box when he wants to. See Abraham and Groves II.

His technique ain't all that bad.

Froch's success has always baffled me. It's even crazier that he was a highly successful amateur. He almost fights like a relic of the bareknuckle age.

Khan's technique is improving but it was really bad up til recently. Awful footwork, no defense, sloppy punches, basically 100% reliant on speed.

Alot of you are thinking that fighters with a come-forward style automatically have poor technique. Technical doesn't mean textbook, particularly with southpaws.

Pacquiao (southpaw) has some of the best offensive footwork boxing has ever seen.

Darchinyan (southpaw) at his best was very good technically. Southpaw power punchers are rare, especially ones that stalk and come forward. Good enough for the Olympics...

Calzaghe (southpaw) had excellent technique if you look at his prospect stage and early title reign. Very good distance control, great punching technique, hard to hit, great angles, pretty much textbook boxing. Later on if you watch how he dealt with Lacy and Kessler it's a totally different style of boxing, more pressure and infighting, more slaps, etc. But the footwork and body positioning is still there.

And Malignaggi is technically excellent, he just punches like a girl now. The fact he can still be sort of successful is evidence that his technique is very good.

Margarito was a sickening body puncher and could cut off the ring in scary ways.

Aaron pryor would sometimes look awkward and amaterish on the offence, always had his chin stuck up in the air!
