at the time, brawler gavin rees' victory over slick souleymane m'baye shocked me(and cost me a few quid, too)although with hindsight, even though rees' opponents up to that point had been the proverbial 'cans,m'baye had usually come up short on the big occasion, and at 32,was on the slide.which is a shame, because 5 or 6 years previous,he really looked 'the goods.'another unfulfilled boxing career,i'm afraid to say...

Benn v McLellan was a surprise because the majority were expecting an early night. Same with Hatton v Tszyu

were either results that surprising...i fancied both brits to win these fights, and i don't think the bookies gave fantastic odds for the subsequent outcomes...

Bob Fitzsimmons Vs Jim Corbett (not many picked Fitz going into the bout)

I imagine Jim Watt was not favoured against O'Grady. Imagine how big his Internet hype train would be if he was around today :rofl Would peeps try and claim him as a 'World champion'?

Can't be arsed to think of anything obscure and pretentious.

I didn't know anyone who though either Brit would survive the distance.

would lewis v ruddock qualify?if not the result,i'm pretty sure the fashion in which he achieved victory was a huge shock to most?
