Jesus Mark, you have blatantly copied the other thread!. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/strong-mw-eras.659223/ Bad form mate.
Marvin Hagler and Ray Robinson are probably the top 2, Carlos Monzon follows close, didn't have the athleticism of the others but made up for it his ring IQ which was off the ****ing charts even among the elite and his Monzon'ness.
I would add James Toney too as far as defensive skills and counter punching skills are concerned. I think its a subjective thread though. RJJ was the most athletically gifted middleweight ever. SRR was a great athlete and had good fundementals. Hagler was exceptionally talented too in that he could confortably switch between southpaw and orthodox. Its certainly an amazing talent.
Talent: Jones Jr. Fundamentals: Probably someone we don’t have enough footage of. Among those we do, Monzon for minimalism and efficient use of the basics. Hopkins for the more specific miscellaneous stuff.
I'm gonna say Eduardo Lausse since he isn't really mentioned anywhere else. Guy was definitely a talent (but not 'most talented ever').
We could mention so many and so much couldn't we. Toney sort of sits in between. He's talented and he has some great fundamentals but i think both of my suggestions surpass him in the segregated categories. Jones talents were extraordinary. The speed, the power, the reflexes, the intuition. For once I've gone straight for the jugular rather than mentioning all and sundry Of course guys like Burley were immensely talented as well. Hagler's switch hitting was impressive but imo it was just one facet of talented. It also, if anything, was to his detriment against SRL.
Hagler had a wide variety of punches too, his jab and counter jab were very effective at the end of his long reach.
