I'd go with Joe Louis. His punches were all absolutely textbook and he had a whole variety of shots.

I have Ali as the greatest Heavyweight ever but if you
I completely agree regarding Ali. I have him as the greatest Heavyweight ever but, if we're talking the most technical, I'd go with Joe Louis. His punches were all textbook and he had a variety of shots he could hurt you with.

    Pound for Pound Tyson Fury

Never again will you see a 260 pound 6'8" man possess such stamina, speed and footwork.

...and he hasn't even given us his best performance.

Joe Louis was the most technically skilled. Ali was the most naturally gifted.

Lewis, great jab and for a big man, bigger than Louis, fast hands and feet in his younger years.

Thats the difference betwen skill and talent. In his time ali were talented. But by todays standard he is not that talented H2H.

    Skillwise: mediocre at best.

A man who can do anything in the ring: Ali. Technically skilled in ANYTHING including trash talking and mind games and ring generalship. And marketing.

I want to say Joe Louis, then Larry Holmes, followed by Klitschko. Ali was greater than all of them but not especially technical.

Vitali is a H2H nightmare for any Heavyweight in history - but I wouldn't say he's great technically. He had an excellent mastery of distance, jab and right hand - but he avoided shots by leaning backwards and never went to the body especially well. He was actually quite unorthodox imo.

He had the perfect style for his height and physical abilities but I wouldn't study his technique or put it in a textbook.
